Author POV
The next morning Larry's apartment was quiet. The only noise to be heard was the sound of Laurent walking his guest to the door. Knowing that his brother and Kina were probably still asleep, he made sure Jasmine didn't make much noise. They said their goodbyes and she made her way down the hall towards the elevator. Laurent closed the door softly and found his way back to bed. Surely Larry would wake him when he got up. He had been up late rolling in the sheets with his little friend. He doesn't like her much, but she's always a good time. He is acutely aware that she probably doesn't really like him either, just another groupie from their time as dancers that hangs around.
Laurent falls face first into bed and slides under the cover just in time for his door to open. Larry drowsily strolls in and climbs into bed with his twin. He doesn't say anything just cuddles close to his twin and falls asleep right along with him. The house stills again.
A couple hours later, Kina wakes up in bed alone. She sits up and looks around before getting out of bed to look for Larry. Figuring he might be in the kitchen, she pads her way towards the front. Finding no one there, she thinks maybe the twins left to get food. She makes her way to the bathroom to do her hygiene, but pauses in the doorway across from Laurent's room. She hears two distinct sets of snores. Maybe Larry left alone and Jasmine is still here. She starts to head towards the bathroom again, but a nagging feeling and curiosity got the best of her.
Kina tip toes over to the door and leans her ear against it softly. There's no way one of those snores is Jasmine's, she thinks. She twists the door nob slowly and opens the door as quietly as she can. What her eyes see warms her heart. She sees Larry and Laurent sleeping facing each other with their hands linked in the middle of their bodies and their foreheads touching. It's such an intimate scene, Kina almost feels bad for walking into their bubble of bonding. She makes her way into Larry's bedroom and retrieves her phone. She makes sure the sound is off and takes a quick picture of them. Larry's probably going to kill her later, but she figures that picture is worth it. She, then, closed the door and goes ahead to the bathroom. She hops in the shower and brushes her teeth before cleaning her face and applying moisturizer to her body. She throws on a pair of Larry's sweatpants and one of his shirts and goes to the kitchen to get started on breakfast.
She rummages though the fridge and pulls out the ingredients to make waffles, eggs, bacon and hashbrowns. She makes the waffle batter and lets it sit while she peels the potatoes. She puts her headphones on to keep her company and fill the silence. After the potatoes are cleaned and peeled, she shreds and drains them before she starts frying them. She puts the bacon in the oven so she can pay attention to the eggs and hashbrowns. Lastly she placed the waffle batter into the waffle iron so they'll be soft and warm. When everything is ready, she grabs two bed trays and places all of the food on them.
She walks into Laurent's room with the first tray and finds both twins awake just staring at each other having silent conversations with their eyes until they hear her come in. She instructs Larry to sit up and places the first tray in front of him before rushing back to the kitchen to grab the second to bring to Laurent. She is greeted with the warmest of smiles as she places everything in front of the boys.
Lar- Awww baby. Thank you! You don't have to do this. We can come eat at the table with you.
Lau- Really, thanks Kina, but you can eat with us. We won't leave you out there by yourself.
K- I have a better idea.
Kina goes back to the kitchen and makes a third tray for herself and brings it back to the room. She sets it up in the middle of the twins legs so she can face them while she sits at the foot of the bed. Seeing that everyone is happy with the arrangement, they say quick prayers and dig in. Halfway through clearing his place Laurent just couldn't help himself.
