"I'm sorry dad, but I can't let you carry on." Chanhee said, firmly walking over to his father. The man looked stunned, eyes darting around the crew for any sign of what to do. It was obvious that he never expected for Chanhee to show up.
Younghoon and Kevin trailed behind the angel, standing by his side, as he delivered his next words.
"People of Pure Sky, I'm sure you're confused about what's going on here, so let me fill you in. My name is Choi Chanhee, which many of you probably know, and I actually wasn't kidnapped. I chose to run away myself, after my father had planned to kill me-"
"Cut the camera's right now!" Governor Choi screamed. "Hangyul, or whatever your name is, cut those damn cameras!"
A familiar ok signal was shown to the governor. As soon as he saw the sign, Chanhee's father harshly shoved his son. The man looked red, his blood visibly boiling. He clenched his jaw, and fists, failing to compress his ever growing anger.
"You ungrateful brat! I gave you everything in this life, and this is how you chose to repay me! Disgrace my name by frolicking around with this unpure beast!" He spat, getting closer and closer to Chanhee.
Younghoon went straight into protective mode, pulling the angel behind him. "If I'm the unpure beast, what does that make you? You're a literal murderer, and just an overall awful individual. I mean re writing every book in this library to make angels look good, oh my God, it's pathetic."
"Keep that mouth of yours shut boy, this is between me and my son! We can settle this alone!"
"Well Chanhee was only one when you killed his mother!" Kevin chimed in, not able to hold his tounge any longer. "So who was that between? You and her? She's dead, because you murdered her. Is that what you consider settling things?!"
The governors bulging eyes stared back at the trio; his veins nearly bursting from the amount of fury building up inside. "That disgusting bitch deserved what she got! Sleeping with a demon, it's unnatural." He scoffed, grinding his teeth down as he peered towards his son. "I really had high hopes for you Chanhee, but you're no better than her! We were never meant to mix with creatures so unpure!"
"You can't deny history." Chanhee stated, gently pushing Younghoon aside, so he could walk to his father. "The demons were never evil, it's only angels like you who push that idea. Don't tell me you haven't heard the story of Lucilla and Domitia, how the angels destroyed a beautiful union, and killed a woman, all simply because she loved someone."
"That story is ridiculous! The angels were only protecting Lucilla-"
"By stabbing the one she loved in the heart?" Chanhee's voice was soft, yet somehow filled the whole room. He was able to make such a big impact, without needing to scream, or put on an act. "It's not hard to see...the angels were in the wrong."
Chanhee's father stood there speechless, only listening to the thundering sound of his heart beat. His blood was pumping, and his mind almost switched off. "If you're so obsessed with that story, then how about we recreate it right now."
Eye's widening, Chanhee watched as his father reached into his trousers, pulling out a gun. It was almost as if time stood still, seeing the gun being directed at Younghoon, and that finger wrap around the trigger. This wasn't really happening, it couldn't be happening. Chanhee could never let this happen to Younghoon, because you protect the ones the love.
An ear shattering gun shot echoed through the room.
The silence that followed was deafening, each person littered in goosebumps. They glance around to see what's going on, and each one of those creatures feel their heart drop as they lay their eyes to the center of the room.
Gulping down the lump in his throat, Chanhee's eyes flutter open and closed. He sucks in a deep breath, slowly looking down to his chest. All he could see was red, the blood clearly seeping through his shirt.
"Chanhee..."
Younghoon's voice, Chanhee loved Younghoon's voice. Ever so carefully, Chanhee turned his head, locking eyes with the demon for a second, before collapsing straight into his arms.
"No, no, no, come on Chanhee..." Younghoon muttered, holding the frail angels body in his arms. Bringing himself to the ground he caressed the boys pale cheeks, pulling him close in his embrace.
Kevin bit roughly down on his lip, dragging his hands up and through his hair. Releasing his lip, his devastating sob filled the library, as he finally processed what just happened. The tears rushed down his cheeks, spilling all over the white marble.
"This is what he deserved." The final words spoken by Chanhee's father, as he left the library. And no one dared to stop him.
Chanhee's icy blue eyes connected with Younghoon's deep red pair, the same way it did the first time they met. The same way they always had. Slightly parting his lips, Chanhee tried to speak, but couldn't, feeling his strength slipping away.
"Shhh it's okay, you're going to be okay." Younghoon whispered, running his hands through the angels blonde locks.
Falling to his knees Kevin crawled over to his best friend, clenching his hand around his frail fingers. The tears were still streaming, as he stared at the lifeless angel. He wanted to save him, he wanted to assure him that everything would be fine, but they all knew that nothing could be done now. So he just wanted to be there for him.
Taking one final breath, Chanhee exited this world in his lover arms.
Not knowing that his death was about to change everything.
