The sun had long set, leaving the streets of Pure Sky in almost complete darkness. The dimly lit street lamps, let out just enough light for someone to make out where they were going, casting a yellow hue over the streets. Chanhee had grown use to this view, and walking along the concrete at night; this was his only way to get to Younghoon.
The angel felt drained, he couldn't stop thinking about his fight with Sangyeon. He got the guilt off his chest, but at what cost? Was telling Sangyeon really what was best for him? It didn't seem to make his life any better. Of course he wasn't being lied to anymore, at least fully. Though, there was still so much he chose to hide.
Chanhee shivered, due to the cold chill picked up by the wind. His hoodie wasn't really enough to keep him warm, it would have been better if he threw on his coat as well before he left. The winter was only getting more intense, he needed to put more thought into his clothing choices now. Nonetheless, he'd be warm once he got to Younghoon's apartment, so, he just needed to deal with it.
Turning the familiar corner, Chanhee was two streets away from his destination, but he found it hard to continue onward. There was a creature, walking towards him, immediately causing him to tense up. He hated when there was no one else around, it made him feel extremely unsafe. This creature could do anything they wanted to him, and he wouldn't be able to stop them.
The angel gritted his teeth, picking up the speed of his steps. He just needed to get pass the creature, then he'd be fine. His eyes were glued to the concrete, as he kept walking, trying to keep attention off himself. All of a sudden, he felt his body crash into something, his eyes were still to the ground, that's how he noticed the shoes. His heart beat increased rapidly, as he heard the stranger mutter a few words.
"You should watch where you're going."
Chanhee didn't look up, instead nodding, and trying to move past the creature. He was shocked when the person moved to the side, stopping him from going, even using his hands to gently push him back.
"Are you alright? Did you get hurt?" The man asked, placing two fingers under Chanhee's chin, he forced the angel to look at him.
A burning sensation spread across the bottom of his chin, this was undoubtedly a demon.
"I've got somewhere to be, sorry for bumping into you." Chanhee said, quickly pulling his head away from the demon. He'd definitely been found out, the blue eyes of an angel were distinctly recognizable. He could only hope to get out of there as fast as possible.
"How about I accompany you? It's unsafe here for a creature like you."
The strangers offer was something Chanhee would never accept, he couldn't trust that it would be safer with the demon, than just being on his own. He muttered a 'no thank you', attempting to get away for the second time. Yet again, to no success.
Chanhee felt a firm grip on his arm, pulling him back in front of the man. He could see the demon getting impatient, clearly not ecstatic about the angels resistance.
"Let me take you where you need to go." The demon insisted, tightening his grip on Chanhee's arm. "Don't act difficult when someones being nice to you."
"I said no!" Chanhee hissed, delivering a slap to the demons face. The stranger looked away, holding his hand to the sore spot on his cheek. With that distraction, Chanhee felt the grip loosen on his arm, so he took the opportunity to sprint down the street.
Heavy footsteps followed behind, but Chanhee didn't look back. He really needed to get to Younghoon, he was so scared. His heart was beating out of his chest, and he could barely breathe, feeling his body slowing ever so slightly. He wasn't fit enough for this, his body was weak, there was no way he could outrun the demon.
The tug of his hood, caused Chanhee to choke, as he was pulled backwards into the demons arms. The stranger wrapped one arm around the angel, using the other to cover his mouth, muffling the screams. The burning was unbearable, he'd only ever known Younghoon's touch, and it never felt as disgusting as this. No matter how hard he struggled, kicking his legs around, wriggling his whole body, he couldn't get away, the demon was too strong.
"I don't know where you planned on going..." The demon whispered, his hot breath singeing the angels ear. "But you're not going there now."
The words sent shivers through Chanhee's body, there was nothing he could do. He couldn't escape, he couldn't scream for help, he was at the mercy of this demon. He just wished Younghoon would show up, bring him home, make him feel safe again.
"Hands off him Donghyun!" A feminine voice commanded.
Chanhee looked up to see a darkly dressed girl standing in front of him, with two glowing icy blue eyes. Another angel? Chanhee had never felt more relieved in his life, but he still wondered what she was doing downtown.
"What are you jealous?" The demon, now identified as Donghyun, chuckled. "I'll swing by your place after, give me about 10 minutes."
"Hands. Off. Now." She reiterated, looking no more amused than she did the first time.
Donghyun ran his tounge along his top teeth, and rolled his eyes at the angel. This was proving to be way more hassle than it was usually worth. "Just fuck off will you! I don't fucking listen to you!" He shouted.
"You will."
The girl walked closer, with a somewhat devilish smirk plastered on her face. She rustled deep into her pocket, pulling out a black long oval shaped object. Donghyun squinted, watching her flick it upwards, to reveal a sharp bladed knife.
"A knife? That's cute, like you'll actually stab me-" Donghyun's laughing halted, as he felt the sharp tip of the knife press against his throat.
"I'm not playing, I know how to use this knife, and I'd love nothing more than to kill you right now." She stated, staring intensely into the demon's eyes.
They stayed like that for a moment, with a thick tension filling the streets. Reluctantly, Donghyun released Chanhee, who immediately sprinted behind the girl. He valued his life way more than destroying Chanhee's, but it was frustrating that this ruined his fun.
"Psycho." He grumbled under his breath, turning back the way he came.
Both angels watched until the demon was out of sight. Chanhee was so grateful that the girl helped him, but was slightly nervous to be around someone who had just threatened someone elses life. She was nothing like the other angels he knew, which was probably a good thing, since things could have ended very badly.
"I'm Jieun by the way, we better get you somewhere safe."
