The books weighed down heavy in Chanhee's bag, causing the straps to dig into his shoulder. The angel had been home for three days now, waiting for the right opportunity to get them to Mama Kim. Since his parents weren't home for the evening, and he had no commitments with Younghoon, Chanhee took himself downtown, for a visit to the heaven house.
Walking through the dimly lit hallway, Chanhee was illuminated in red light, quite fitting for this time. Some believe that red symbolizes action, confidence, courage, such an intense colour, that really summed up the emotions, Chanhee would need to get through these upcoming weeks. As he approached Mama Kim's office, the angel could hear talking coming from the other side of the door. Maybe the demon was busy, but Chanhee really couldn't wait.
A few pounds to the door, and Chanhee had caught the attention of the creatures inside. "Hey darlin', what's the problem?" Mama Kim asked, leaning against the door frame.
"I really need to speak with you." Chanhee responded, keeping a firm tone.
Mama Kim could sense what kind of talk Chanhee wanted to have, so she moved aside, letting the angel stroll in. "If it's important, I'll always make time."
Eyes widening, Chanhee stopped all movements as he entered the room. Sat at the desk was someone he'd never expected to see, seeming almost more shocked than he was. "Eunji? You're back." He muttered.
"That's right, and you're not meant to be here." The fairy replied, crossing her arms over her chest. She wasn't surprised that Chanhee had obviously lied her about staying out of trouble, but more that it had been a few weeks, and he hadn't been caught. She assumed he'd be hopeless with out her, which turned out to be very untrue.
"Well why are you here?" Chanhee questioned.
"Eunji's my business partner." Mama Kim proclaimed, throwing her arm over the fairy. "It's been 11 years I believe, and we're still going strong."
Business partners? Eunji really had a double life going on, working for the most important family in all of Pure Sky, and running a heaven house on the side. Chanhee really wondered what else she could have been hiding. "Anyway, I don't have long, I need to show you something." He said, throwing his bag onto the table. He didn't care about Eunji seeing the books, since there was no reason to hide anymore. Unzipping his bag, Chanhee revealed the leather bound volumes, to astounded reactions.
"How on earth did you get these?!" Eunji gasped, examining one of the books.
"I'm not really sure why it happened, but I somehow ended up in the great library of the saints...and I may have stole them-"
"Stole them!" Eunji repeated, much louder than Chanhee's coy revelation.
Mama Kim let out a deep laughter, picking up the other book that sat on the desk. Just as she had thought, Chanhee made the impossible, possible. "Ah boy, this is incredible!"
"No it very much isn't." The fairy stated, shaking her head at the unamusing situation. "If they find out you have these, I don't even know what will happen to you. Why did you take them? Couldn't you have just read them, and left?"
"I had no choice, they're going to destroy all of the books. I saw dad there, he plans on opening the library to the public, with brand new books, to change history in his favour." Chanhee explained, taking the book Mama Kim was holding, flipping a few pages in. "I'm Lucilla's heir, I couldn't just sit back and let him do this."
"Oh my lord, you really are!" The demon shouted, reading over Chanhee's name in the book. "Well you did the right thing, we can't let your father get away with this." She continued, patting the angels shoulder.
A frustrated sigh slipped Eunji's lips, as she got up from the desk. "I agree that your father shouldn't be doing this, but you really shouldn't have got involved either. Whether you're Lucilla's heir or not. It's risky, you're bound to get yourself into trouble."
"Mm whatever Eunji! Just stop worrying about me, you've been gone for weeks, and I'm fine." Chanhee huffed. It was true, Chanhee had faced lots of trouble while Eunji was gone, and even if he didn't handle it all on his own, he managed to get through it. He didn't need to listen to her concerns, when he already knew all about them. "I'm sorry that I lied to you, but I can't take back anything I've done. I just need you to help me deal with this mess, since I'm too far in, to back out."
Running her hands through her hair, Eunji bit her tounge, knowing that Chanhee had a point. He couldn't stop, when he was already in so deep, they just had to deal with whatever repercussions come along.
"Now can anyone tell me who this person is?" Chanhee asked, pointing to the name above his in the book. He had no hope of working it out on his own, he needed to see if anyone else knew.
Mama Kim took the book off Chanhee, feeling a somewhat familiar presence through the name. "Eunji take a look at this." She said, directing the book at the fairy.
Eunji also felt a strange connection to the name, like she'd heard it somewhere before. Racking her brain, the fairy thought back to years ago, when she was only just starting her career as a maid. "Thats-" She hesitated, gathering intrigued looks from both creatures.
"Thats what?" Chanhee inquired, rushing over to Eunji. The woman looked like she was holding back, giving off an aura that she didn't want to reveal this information. "Please Eunji, tell me. No matter how bad it is, I have to know." He pleaded, tugging on the fairy's arm.
Taking a deep breath, Eunji guided Chanhee to the desk chair. This wasn't necessarily the nicest thing to hear, and she didn't have all the answers, she knew Chanhee would still be in the dark after. "When I first got into maid work, I heard lots stories about your parents. The fairies were always gossiping about something, that's how I heard about your mothers affair, with a demon."
"What?! That's insane-"
"Chanhee let me finish." Eunji interrupted, continuing on with her story. "A few days passed, when suddenly the maid, and your mother, both disappeared. There was no explanation, and before we knew it, your father was marrying someone new. I guess so much time has gone by, no one really remembers her anymore. So what I'm saying Chanhee, that name,
its your birth mothers."
