Blinking her eyes open slowly, Maleah instantly shut them back due to the feeling of the bright light shining through them. Wincing in pain, she shifted her body a little bit before attempting to blink them open once more. She didn't know where she was, what was going on, or why it physically hurt her each time she even did so much as attempt to open her eyes, but it did.

Choosing against what she was trying to do, she opened her mouth in attempts to speak but she couldn't do such either. Her throat was dry, no words being able to come out except a small wheeze. She couldn't see what was going on, but as soon as the small sound left her mouth, she instantly heard shuffling along with a voice she missed beyond words.

"Leah!" Michael called out, Maleah feeling what she assumed to be his hand grasping her own. She wanted to say something to him, but she couldn't speak so she just squeezed his hand lightly.

"Oh shit..." She heard him whisper, before her hand was left empty again. She listened out as he rushed out of the room briefly, Maleah laying in confusion and slight agitation until the sound of other footsteps came into the room. She couldn't decipher how many, but she knew it was a lot. Footsteps along with the sound of voices speaking with one another, dishing out different commands and instructions that she was barely listening to.

"Alright Maleah, can you try to open your eyes for me again?" Releasing a harsh breath, Maleah tried to adjust her body again, but she couldn't one feeling a pain going up her spine. Choosing to stop her attempt, she slowly fluttered her eyes open once more. This time having success because she was now out of the bright light as a dimmer one filled the room up.

Looking around, she laid in confusion at everyone cheering as though she'd just done the greatest thing they ever seen. The more she eyed the space, the easier it was for her to figure out she was in a hospital. Instantly, her hand flew to her stomach due to the emptiness she felt. Frantically, she began to point to her mouth to signal she needed some type of water in order to speak, because the panic she felt in knowing there no longer was a baby inside of her or anywhere in sight, nearly forced her back into whatever sleep she was in.

"Water, she needs water- can someone get her water?!" Imani stood up, being able to read exactly what Maleah was trying to say. Nodding his head, Michael quickly reached over to grab his bottle of water. Walking over towards her, he held the uncapped bottle up to her mouth with his left hand, while his right hand rested under her chin just in case she spilled any.
