"This is your car, and this is mama car, and this is Nova car." Kaiden smiled, handing one of his small trucks over with each name. A look of confusion on his face once Nova didn't reach out and grab hers like Maleah and Chris, Kaiden attempting to shove it in her direction, but he was quickly stopped by Chris who grabbed his hand.
"I got Nova's, cause she can't grab it herself." Chris grabbed the small car for Nova, since she not only had on her little mittens, but she would have probably hurt herself if they let her have it. Nova having a tendency to scratch her face up with anything she possibly could, her nails being the main thing which was why they were so strict on her wearing her mittens in the first place.
"Mama, who is Nova dada?" Kaiden looked up towards Maleah with pure confusion spread along his face after reading the name on the scoreboard. Dada being in parenthesis next to Nova's name, since she wouldn't be the one playing.
"Chris is baby, I told you this already." Maleah smiled, allowing Kaiden to sit down on her lap in between her criss-crossed legs on the ground. Wrapping her arms around him, Maleah placed a gentle kiss on his temple while her eyes trailed over to look at Nova who laid wide awake. Her eyes exploring the entire room until landing on Chris who sat smiling down at her. A bright smile instantly spreading across her face, causing him to chuckle before pulling her rocker closer.
"You supposed to be sleep and you wide awake, it's nap time mama." He spoke softly, reaching up to fix her little headband bow that Maleah put on her.
"You said Nova dada will be here forever, Chris will be here forever?' Kaiden looked up towards Maleah with a bright smile on his face. Smiling from her son's happiness, Maleah ran her hand over his head full of curls softly, the excitement in his face causing a warm feeling to form in her chest.
"Well that's the plan if he keeps on being an amazing daddy to your sister." Maleah spoke in a nearly inaudible tone, but Chris still heard her. Glancing up, he shot her that smile that always managed to have her head gone. She wasn't sure what it was that had gotten into her that had her forgetting about everything, but she partially hated it while also loving it.
They had 2 days of being with one another alone, and Maleah would be lying if she said she wasn't able to pinpoint a clear difference in how he acted from then compared to now. He had his sole attention on her the whole time, no other women, no other people period. He wasn't being the asshole she was used to, except he was being a complete sweetheart for some reason. Of course he still made his smart remarks because it wouldn't be Chris if he didn't, but it was nothing to where she could get offended in any serious way.
