"Captain it has been 2 weeks exactly since I've last received an update from you. I would hope your head isn't back in somewhere that it shouldn't be." Sinking his teeth into his bottom lip, Chris tried his hardest to refrain from saying what it was he really wanted to. The feeling of his higher up nearly breathing down the back of his neck irking him.
"Well if you would stop harassing me to get you some shit that I clearly don't have, then maybe we wouldn't be here right now." He fake smiled, tired of having to continuously go back and forth with this man he was supposed to be answering to.
Furrowing his eyebrows, the Chief stood in front of him with his arms crossed over his chest. Shaking his head, he chuckled lowly.
"I noticed you and her got caught up in a little...situation." He laughed again, earning a confused glare from Chris. Sitting up in his seat, he draped his arms over his legs to eye the man in front of him sharply. Trying his best to plant his feet into the ground so he didn't end up jumping out of it to wipe the smug smirk off his face.
"I don't know what the hell you talking bout, but what I do know is the shit you doing don't make no damn sense. It's one thing to monitor a case, but that should be happening while I'm aware as to what is going on at all times. My nigga you don't just fucking watch me out of a binocular eye view whenever you please, the hell?!" He looked at him as if he was dumb, not understanding why he'd been getting treated so weirdly since he first agreed to do the case.
Raising his hands in surrender, the chief picked up the toothpick he was previously chewing. "I mean hey, I just can't afford my top man to be distracted in any way-."
"If you trying to hint at or get at the fact I fucked her, then I did. Oh well. Where we supposed to go from here, cause all this extra shit is not changing the fact we was messing around." He tapped his hand along the table with every word he spoke.
He watched as the chief clenched his jaw tightly, a certain fire blaring through his eyes once Chris finished. He looked as though he wanted to commit a murder, but Chris sat unfazed. He didn't have the time nor energy to try and go back and forth about something that was only his business. The only thing he felt the man above him needed to know was the progression of the case, anything else being none of his business.
"I spare you time and time again, have been sparing you. Your girlfriend and side piece come into contact with one another and you still aren't humbled Brown? Best friends at that...? As such a smart man as you claim, I would have believed you to figure it out a lot sooner." Instantly Chris' face dropped. Rushing to his feet, he had to hold a finger up while lowering his head towards the ground. Shaking it slowly, he only chuckled because the urge to wrap his arms around the man and squeeze until he could ensure he wasn't breathing anymore was too high.
