Andrew's POV - 22 July 2019

It's been three weeks. Three full weeks since Christian last came to school and I must say that's given me tons of time to reflect on my actions, and I am not proud of myself, not one bit. I had reacted unreasonably because I wanted to please my friends, but mainly because I was afraid. I still am.

After what almost went down in his car, I knew I had to keep my distance. That's why I ran away that fateful day. That's why I called Olivia immediately when I got home. That's why I slept with her that very same night. That's why I said the things I said the next time I saw him, because I'm freaking scared. The things he makes me feel are things a man should never feel for another man in his lifetime, so I had to get rid of him, or at least I thought so.

So after executing my plan three weeks back, when I said the things I said, I thought I'd feel better, but I feel like a giant ass. My mind wasn't even focused on how my back hurt for days after he threw me to the ground, it was focused on the pain I felt for doing what I did. Christian was there for me when my crazy dad beat me to a pulp. Not only was he there, he took care of me when the friends I tried to impress weren't. Gosh, I really am the worst, and the fact that I haven't seen him didn't make things better.

"Earth to Andrew" Lukas snaps his fingers in my face.

"Yes" I reply slightly startled.

"I've been trying to get your attention for ages Dude, what's... oh hey" Lukas stops mid rant to greet Olivia and Jeremy, who just arrived here together. These two have gotten ridiculously close lately, but we're all friends, right?

"Hi Lukas, hey Babe" Olivia says, kissing me on the cheek.

"Hi Babe" I give her a sad smile. She's so pretty, and she's all a guy could ever ask for, but she doesn't make me happy, not even in the slightest.

"Olivia, what the heck did you do to your boyfriend? He's been this ball of negativity for weeks now" Lukas enquires.

"Wh-what do you mean by that?" she stutters. "I mean, I-I didn't do anything to him, did I?" she questions, looking at Jeremy for help.

"Yeah man, Andrew's been gloomy, it's not Olivia's fault" Jeremy defends. When did these two get so close that they defend each other now?

"Wh..." I get interrupted by the sound of the bell as I'm about to voice my thoughts. Bad timing.

"Oh that's our cue, let's go" Olivia says in a rush and drags Jeremy to class. What the hell is this about?

"Is it me or are those two acting extra strange?" Lukas enquires, seriously confused.

"It's definitely not you" I sigh. "Man I better head to class, because if I don't my teacher's gonna have my head."

"That's why I don't take History, because I can't stand that lady. She's a mad woman" Lukas jokes.

"She better not hear you say that" I chuckle. "I'll see you at lunch" I say, heading towards the direction of the classroom.

"See you man, bring a better mood" he says, then laughs, walking in the opposite direction. I shake my head at his stupidity. I can't summon a good mood so I really don't know what he expects me to do. He's my friend, so he'll have to deal with me in my best days, and my worst.

I enter the classroom and make my way over to my seat, settling down next to Johnny, my new desk mate. See, Johnny is lively and very bubbly. He's very talkative and he is openly gay. He's tried making small talk with me and he's failed miserably. What? I didn't feel like talking in the past number of weeks, so I just downright ignored him.
