Andrew's POV – 24 August 2019 (Same day as Previous Chapter)

Devastated. That is the state I left my grandmother in, and I can't even bring myself to feel sorry for leaving her in that state because I had a tall task ahead of me. Considering the pain that my grandma is certainly feeling, she did not want to add on that by being the one who tells her daughter the news of her father's passing, so the responsibility has been given to me. I was very adamant at first when she asked me to do this, but I just had to do this one thing to at least lessen the guilt I felt. I should've never doubted or questioned my father's words in the first place.

I tap back into reality when I park my car on our driveway, and freeze with concern when I see a truck parked behind my father's car. I just hope my mother kept her mouth shut I pray internally, before getting off the vehicle.

I walk towards the direction of the front door, and I can finally get a closer look at this mysterious truck. It looks like one of those construction trucks, but what would a construction truck be doing here? I ponder over the presence of this truck. I mean, I'm pretty sure it's not here for renovations, and I'm pretty certain it has nothing to do with business. My parents' business associates would never arrive here in a truck, especially one that looked like this one.

I am brought back to life when a man who seems to be in his 40s and is very muscular exits the house and walks past me with a sledgehammer in hand. Oh no, did he just bludgeon my parents? He drops the sledgehammer in the back of the truck and takes a saw, walking back into the house with it. What the fuck is happening here? Wait, what's that sound? Almost sounds like planks breaking. I better head inside and check this out.

I walk into the house, looking around to see if anything's been damaged or seems out of place. Well, from my evaluation, everything seems fine until...my eyes land on the couch.

"What in the hell? What the hell are my clothes doing here?" I ask no one in particular, feeling utterly confused, the persistent sound of planks breaking not making things any easier for me. "Urgh" I groan in frustration and decide to follow the noise, and see what the source of all of this is.

I make my way through the common spaces, before walking into the kitchen, the sound getting a little bit louder. I walk to the back door and swing it open, only to stop in my tracks when I see what the source of the noise is. My tree house! My safe haven! The place that held so many memories for me. A place that was truly my home. The spot my grandpa built for me, with his bare hands, is getting destroyed in front of me.

"What the hell is going on?" I yell across the backyard, marching towards the men who were literally breaking my safe haven apart. My voice drew the attention of not only these men, but of my sweet parents who were standing on the frontline, watching the action unfold. Watching the space that they know meant so much to me being destroyed. For what? I don't know.

I shake my head in disbelief, as I continue walking towards the culprits, only for me to stop abruptly when I feel a hand on my shoulder, stopping me in my tracks. I turn around swiftly, ready to tell whoever touched me to the back the heck off, only to be met by a punch, robbing me of an opportunity to argue. I turn to the person who threw the punch before I am hit with another face breaking punch, sending me straight to the ground. That's only when I get a clear view of who the perpetrator is, and why am I not shocked? It's my freaking father, and the look on his eyes screams PURE HATRED. He cracks his knuckles, before mounting over me, turning me into a human punching bag. Oh my goodness, what did I do? What did I do?

"WHAT DID I DO?!" I finally manage to get out, stopping his punches for the time being.

"What did you do? Are you seriously asking me what you did?" he asks seething, his chest rising and falling, emphasizing how angry he is. "YOU WERE FUCKING ANOTHER MAN!" What? He punches, dizzying me in the process. He stands up and looks at me menacingly, "LET ALONE IN MY FUCKING HOUSE!" he stomps on my face with his size 10, sandwiching my head between his shoe and the ground. I hear a crack and I'm not sure if it's from my head or my nose, but all I know is that I'm bleeding, profusely at that. But thank goodness this is happening in the backyard, and there's grass throughout the backyard area, but that doesn't mean it doesn't hurt my subconscious fires back. Yes, it hurts like a bitch.
