Andrew's POV – 10 December 2019 (Tuesday)

It had been a couple of days since Christian moved in with Jenny and I, and the word euphoria does not even begin to explain how much joy our current situation brings me. Like I had thought, Jenny had no problem with Ian moving in with us, considering that she sometimes makes me feel like she loves him more than she loves me, but I'm not complaining since I appreciate the fact that she's so fond of my boyfriend. A boyfriend I can't see myself living without in the future...

"What's your bean of a brain thinking about?" Jenny asks, interrupting my joyful thoughts with her very bad attempt at insulting me.

"Nothing much" I respond honestly, much to her dismay that I didn't entertain her joke.

"You're no fun" she points out. "Where's Christian?"

"He wanted to call his sister, so I think he went to the basement."

"Oh that's cool, because I've been meaning to ask you..." she pauses, and scoots closer to me, "...Christmas is in a few days, what are you going to get him?"

"Oh, yeah – about that...I haven't figured out what I want to get him" I state truthfully.

"We can go Christmas shopping later in the week. You for Christian, and I for my lovely Paul" she says giddily, making me roll my eyes at her awkward behavior. "I wonder what the perfect gift for Paul is..." The sound of her old Nokia ringtone blares throughout the kitchen, cutting her off. She stands from her chair to grab her cell from the counter; "Unknown number? The nerve of some people..." she says making me chuckle "...Hello?"

I zone her out for a moment as my mind wonders off into what Jenny was talking about just a moment ago. What would be the perfect gift for Christian?

"Peter?" she asks into the phone, bringing me back to reality at the mention of my father's name. "What do you want?" she questions in a voice I never knew she had. She sounds extremely intimidating. "Okay, I'll tell him" she adds, before hanging up. "The nerve of this man" she scoffs, as I move my gaze from the table to look at her, only for me to meet her eyes on me, concern evident in them.

"What did he want?" I question, clearly unbothered.

"He says they need you to come home for the reading of your Grandpa's will" she explains.

"When?" I ask, and the look of pure shock makes its way into Jenny's face, making me chuckle; "What?"

"I wasn't expecting you to be so calm about all of this, considering..." she pauses, eyeing me carefully "...considering how much pain that man has caused you."

"Well, all thanks to a certain someone, plus a certain someone else, I kinda got over all that pain and fear" I say with a small smile.

"Okay, I'm glad to hear that" she says, even though I detected some skepticism in her tone. "He told me that the meeting will be in the next hour..."

"And he's only telling you to tell me now?" I ask incredulously, making Jenny shake her head in disapproval at my father's actions. "But it's okay, I'll go."

"Are you sure?" she asks, as soon as the last word left my mouth.

"Yep."

"Should I ask Christian to come with you?"

"Nope, I need to face these demons on my own this time around" I respond confidently, as Jenny smiles at me reassuringly.

"Go get them Tiger" she says, making me cringe.

"Never say that, ever again" I shake my head for emphasis, as I make my way out of the kitchen. "Tell Christian I'll call him if I need him" I add, before grabbing my jacket and heading out to face those spawns of the devil I call my parents.
