Andrew's POV – 27 November 2019 (Wednesday)
I drop my duffel bag as well as the shopping bag on the walkway, feeling like they were just dragging me the heck down, as I made a beeline for the front door.
I knock on the door a couple of times, as I continue to sniffle. Goodness, what did Christian do to me? What is this boy doing to me?
The door swings open and said boy stood on the other side, looking defeated. His shoulders sagged, his hair untamed and his eyes were bloodshot red and I'm pretty certain that mine looked exactly the same.
When his eyes landed on me, I could bet that I saw some hope shine in them, but I couldn't see the emotion his eyes held anymore because I latched myself onto him, pulling his body closer to mine in a much needed hug, as I continue to cry against his shoulder.
"Baby, why are you crying?" he asks softly, his voice raspy as if he's been crying for days.
"I co- I couldn't do it" I stammer over my words.
"You couldn't do what?"
"I couldn't leave you" I sob, feeling his hands tighten around my frame as he tries to comfort me. "I was on my way to the airport with Jenny and Paul and his sisters, and the next thing I knew, I was a crying mess. I didn't know when I started crying but I know why...I couldn't leave you."
"I'm so sorry..."
"No I'm so sorry!" I interrupt him. "I'm sorry for thinking about leaving you here, alone. I'm sorry for being stupid. I'm sorry for being a fuck u-"
"Andie calm down" he says, releasing me from his hold, only for him to place his warm hand on my cheek. "I'm happy you came back to me, that's all that matters to me."
I lean my head into his hand, getting so much comfort from seeing him, being with him, feeling him.
"Let's get inside and warm you up" he says, moving out of the way to make space for me to walk in.
"Let me go get the turkey" I say, turning back and walking down the walkway, picking my snow covered duffel bag and the wet shopping bag, and then heading back towards the house.
"Where did you get the turkey?" he asks, clearly confused.
"The grocery store" I explain.
"When did you go to the grocery store?"
"On my way back from the airport" I clarify, making him crack a smile.
"How though?"
"Well, when I made the decision to come back we were already at the airport and we were already running late, so I took a cab to the grocery store from the airport and asked the driver to wait for me because I knew I wouldn't be long, then he drove me here after that." This makes Christian burst out laughing, as he looks at me with total admiration.
"So you got turkey?" he beams.
"Hey I'm just trying to give you a half decent thanksgiving dinner" I state. "I hope you don't mind that all of the thanksgiving favorites didn't make the budget, so I only got the turkey."
"You got only the turkey, but I see a bottle in that plastic bag" he points out, reminding me of the other contents in the plastic, and I hide it behind my back.
"Oh, that's –that's just my - uhm...energy drink" I fill in weirdly, and Christian raises his eyebrow at me. "Let's go cook this turkey" I add, as I walk into the house and head straight to our bedroom. Our bedroom. Damn man, that sounds so nice, I think to myself as I shove the items in my bag, before heading out to go cook my boyfriend some turkey.
