"So Jungwon's actually not debuting with us?" Riki questioned, to the other five males. The silence fell heavy for a few moments, as no one really wanted to reply. It was already hard enough to accept that Jungwon wasn't going to debut, let alone, talk about it.
Heeseung lent back, pressing his palms against the practice room floor, using his arms for support. "Apparently not." He sighed.
"That's such bull sh-"
"Language."
Rolling his eyes, Riki picked himself off the floor. He knew that with how he felt right now, Heeseung wouldn't approve of anything he said. Riki walked over to the mirrors, sliding his back down the glass, away from his future group mates.
"I know it's tough, but we need to focus on ourselves. We've made it, we're debuting, and we need to make sure we're a success." Byeonghee stated. It was the harsh truth, no one wanted to admit it, but it's what they were all thinking.
Sunoo bit his lip, glancing to the floor. He was so hurt, since Jungwon was literally his closest friend, he had no desire to debut with out him.
"I agree, we can't get caught up in this. We all knew that there was a chance that we wouldn't be able to debut with each other. We've spent years working towards this, lets not ruin the excitement by getting upset." Heeseung replied.
Was it that easy? Sunoo thought. He wondered how they were able to move on so quickly. It shocked him that even Heeseung seemed to have little care for Jungwon, speaking as if Jungwon just hadn't worked hard enough.
"Mm hmm, anyway, I think we're gonna be an amazing group. Like look around, we've got strong visuals, vocals, rappers, dancers, entertainers. I couldn't have picked a better group." Doyum commented, attempting to lift the mood a bit.
Though, that didn't work for Sunoo. Those last two words, 'better group', Sunoo could have actually picked a better group, and that was one with Jungwon in it. Doyum was being oblivious to how insensitive that was.
As the boys moved the conversation along, talking more and more about the future of their group, Sunoo only got more angry. It had been merely half an hour, since they found out Jungwon wasn't debuting, yet that was somewhat old news by now. They were laughing, and messing around, as if Jungwon didn't even exist.
He could feel his body tensing, and the tears about to pour. It wouldn't be long until Sunoo lost control, having a full blown argument with the boys.
"I want a powerful debut!"
"With a dance break."
"Ah that would be so cool-"
"Can you please shut the fuck up?!"
Sunoo's head popped up, looking over to the enraged youngest. He didn't need to blow up, Riki did that for him.
"You may have gotten over this Jungwon situation, but some of us still haven't. So can you please stop talking about this." Riki said, keeping a serious tone. It wasn't really like him to act this way, he was normally either overly energetic, or extremely moody. Never serious. Something had changed about him when he got to Seoul.
Truthfully, something had changed about all of them.
Heeseung didn't respond, watching Riki throw his head into his lap. He silently signaled for the group to stop talking, knowing Riki just needed some time to cool down. He did feel bad, and unlike Riki thought, he wasn't over Jungwon not debuting with them. But being one of the oldest, he felt the need to comfort the others, and the best way to do that, was distraction.
The rooms awkward silence, was suddenly broken by the squeak of the door, and the sound of footsteps. A few of the companies staff members came into the practice room, noticeably, Danbi and Minhee, two of the choreographers.
"Boys line up." Junseo commanded, which all the boys followed immediately. "From now on I'll be your manager, so if anyone has any problems, you can come to me."
The six nodded, renaming calm. Though on the inside, they breathed a sigh of relief. They had heard rumors that one of the other staff was going to be their manager, and he was known for being incredibly ruthless and cruel. So having Junseo was the most ideal outcome.
"Next week, you'll have your first appearance as a group. It's at the Seoul university sports showcase. You'll be performing during the half time of the men's basketball tournament."
Heeseung raised his hand, waiting for Junseo to allow him to speak. "I'm playing in that tournament, so what will happen with that?"
"Take it as practice." Junseo laughed. "One day you'll be performing for hours on end, it's best to build that stamina up now. It's only a dance performance anyway, so you won't need to worry about vocals." He continued, reaching into his pocket. He rustled around, soon pulling out a small sticky note. "We've planned for three total performances, two units, and one group. It will be dances you've practiced before, but we'll do more practice over the weekend." He was clearly reading off the note.
Stepping forward, Danbi waved at the boys to catch their attention. "I'll be working with Sunoo, Doyum, and Geonu, for a girl group performance. You'll be doing about 2 minutes of Panorama by Iz*one."
"And for Heeseung, Byeonghee and Riki, you'll be working with me." Minhee said, stepping forward also. "You'll be doing about 2 minutes of Regular by Nct 127."
"We want to showcase your different skills, and how you can cover a range of concepts. The group performance will be..." Junseo paused, looking down to check his notes. It wasn't that difficult to remember, but he was known for having a bad memory. "Getting closer by seventeen, you'll be performing the full routine. Now Danbi's group can go to practice room three, and Minhee's group will stay in here. Practice hard." He added, before leaving the room.
"Okay guys, come with me." Danbi gestured to her group, as she walked to the door. Doyum and Geonu followed quickly behind, but Sunoo was held back by a hand grasping around his wrist.
"I wish I was in your group, I don't want to be around Heeseung right now." Riki whispered, obviously still annoyed about earlier.
Sunoo sighed, taking Riki's hand off his wrist, and caressing it in his own. "I'll take you for food once practice is over, just try focusing on the performance."
"I'll try." Riki huffed, pulling away from Sunoo. He reluctantly walked over to Heeseung and Byeonghee, but purposely ignored them when they tried to speak to him.
Things weren't really looking all that great at the moment. Jungwon wasn't debuting, and now Riki was mad at Heeseung. No one thought their debut would make things so complicated.

I love all my readers, but it would be nice to have a little support on this book. So, if you like a chapter, don't forget to vote. It really helps motivate me to keep writing, especially since I've kinda taken a break from writing the later chapters. If I see people are enjoying the book, I'll feel more excited to write the chapters.
I hope everyone's having a lovely day🥰
