The venue was crowded, but not insanely crowded, so the group were still able to move through with ease. They made their way to the bleachers, heading up to the very middle, where they took their seats. The judges table was directly across from them, and Sunoo felt compelled to gulp. Those people appeared colder than the ice, which sent a shiver racing down his spine.
"It's fucking cold in here-"
Riki's whining was cut off by Heeseung. "Language."
The boy rolled his eyes. Even though he was 19, they still treated him like a child. His body shivered from the cold, and he internally whined about not bringing a coat. At least the cold would help stop his cut from bleeding, meaning Jake would finally stop fussing over him.
In an instant, the icy chill was replaced by a warm soft, comforting feeling. He glanced down at his body, clocking the black jacket slung over his shoulder. He turned to Jake, who was looking back at him with a smile.
Riki couldn't hold back his own, desperate to throw his arms around Jake for added warmth. However, he soon noticed he wasn't the only one looking at Jake. He locked eyes with Jay, who simply raised their brows, then turned away.
He immediately snapped his gaze back to the rink, fingers digging into his thighs.
Jake could sense the tension. "What's up?" He asked, about to place his hand on Riki's when the boy shot up.
"I'm going to sit with Sunoo."
Riki bolted down the isle, slumping down between Sunoo and Mi-Sun. He couldn't dare look back at Jake. He felt like a terrible boyfriend, but he just didn't want anyone to know. This was the only option.
"Come to sit with your big sister huh?" Mi-Sun cooed, laying her arm over Riki's shoulder. She dragged him towards her, ruffling his hair.
The boy wiggled out of her grasp. "I couldn't see over there." He lied, fixing some of the strands that were out of place.
Jungwon and Sunoo were huddling together, scrolling down Jungwon's twitter trending page. They went through liking every article, and/or fan comment about Sunghoon.
"Ooh look at this one, 'Might die when I see #ParkSunghoon today. That man is fine as hell.' You've got some competition." Jungwon teased, with Sunoo quickly liking the comment and scrolling on. Jungwon just giggled. "What if shes super pretty? She might steal your boyfriend."
"You forget Sunghoon is gay." Sunoo replied, glancing down at the ring on his finger. It didn't matter who it was, no one could get in between them.
"I'm only kidding." Jungwon scrolled to a new comment. "'#KimSunoo is here to support #ParkSunghoon' " He furrowed his brows and looked up, then back down at the phone. This person had attached a photo of Jungwon and Sunoo staring down at the phone, which meant it had been taking very recently.
"You say I forget Sunghoon's gay, but what I really forget is that you're famous." Jungwon chuckled, tapping on the tweet, to read the comments. "Aww they're all saying how cute you two are. Ahh there's even a stan account for you!"
Sunoo winced, darting his eyes away from the screen. He appreciated the love, but it did feel quite embarrassing. Not that he wasn't used to it. As much as they kept their relationship private, the world was aware and more curious than ever. Whenever they went on a date, it always ended up in the news, even when they disguised themselves from head to toe.
"Lets get off twitter, the events gonna start soon."
Jungwon hummed, and put his phone away.

Skater after skater, the scores only got higher.
Sunghoon stood at the edge of the ice, keeping himself composed, focusing on steadying his breathing. He wouldn't allow the stress to get to him. This was his moment. This was his chance. The weight of the world may have been on his shoulders, but he couldn't falter. All of the years he spent training. All of the suffering he put himself through. There was worth in it, that could carry him to a victory.
"Park."
Leeteuk's voice didn't break his concentration, which wasn't the man's intention anyway. He spoke quietly and precisely, in an effort to keep Sunghoon in the zone.
"Remember, turns tight, full rotations, outside edge for the lutz."
"Got it."
He felt the man pat his shoulder. "Show them everything you've got Sunghoon, because they will not be able to take their eyes off of you."
Sunghoon thought back to all the times people had told him he had something special. That ignoring the technical side of skating, he was gifted, in captivating every person in the audience. It wasn't only about the tricks, it was about the passion, the determination, the pure love he had for the the sport. He would melt into the music, creating whatever form fit the piece to perfection.
He could see the skaters around him, some just as gifted as himself, or even more so. Nonetheless, deep down, Sunghoon truly believed that he deserved to be here. He was going to leave everything on that ice.
If it's enough, it's enough.
Leeteuk's presence soon faded, and Sunghoon was alone again.
It wasn't long until he heard his name called, the crowd roaring louder than they had all day. He closed his eyes and took in one long breath. He could barely hear his heart beat over the people screaming his name.
Every time he stepped out on that ice, it was to prove himself. First for others, now for himself. The world was at his finger tips, he couldn't let it slip away.
Eyes open. Sunghoon takes his first step onto the ice, his skates slashing against the cold surface. He does as he always does, no different than before. Gazing around the arena, searching for his sun.
Gliding into position, they finally lock eyes. That was the boost of warmth he needed, and Sunghoon settles into position.
The crowd goes silent.
The music begins.
