It was late afternoon when Sunoo finished his last lecture of the day. He use to enjoy his studies, but just like his fellow group mates, he found everything exhausting now a days. For one, he was mentally drained. This whole week had been a whirlwind of emotions, and even though things had improved immeasurably, there was still one thing stuck on his mind.

Sunghoon.

The boy was coming back to Seoul today, and hadn't messaged him once. The last time they had spoken, was the phone call. Which didn't necessarily end the way he wished it did. He just wanted to see him so badly, especially knowing they wouldn't have to break up anymore. Their relationship could get back to the way it was before all this drama.

Sunoo took pitiful footsteps down the corridor, clutching his work folders against his chest. He paid little attention to his surroundings. Appearing as just another miserable university student, it's not like he stood out, it was exam season after all. He made his way through the university, trying to think about anything other than Sunghoon, but he couldn't. It was simple, he missed him. When a person misses someone they love, there's not much you can do about it.

But that person can.

Sunoo froze, eyes widening, with tears ready to fall. His glassy orbs stared at the tall, handsome, stoic boy, almost a flashback to the past. No longer blonde, his black strands fell neatly in front of his pale skin. Most noticeably, a sweet smile tugged his lips, maybe the only thing different from the past.

No hesitation, Sunoo ran, dropping his folders, he jumped into his boyfriends arms. He felt those strong hands wrap around his waist, holding him up so effortlessly. He buried his head in Sunghoon shoulder, breathing in that oh so familiar vanilla scent.

"I love you." Was all he could say, holding his breath as he waited for the response.

"I love you too."

He could breath again.

"So I'm going to see my therapist tomorrow to clear things up, I refuse to let myself lose control like that again."

A chilly breeze swept through the air, bringing a hoard of grey clouds with it. The boys strolled along the park path, not thinking much about the weather. They had been taking this time to catch up, and most importantly, be honest.

"I'm really proud of you." Sunoo smiled, though his heart was heavy. He had no idea that Sunghoon had gone off his medication, he felt extremely guilty that he hadn't noticed. "We'll work through this together, okay? You can't forget that I'll always be here for you."

"Weren't you planning on breaking up with me?" Sunghoon sadly chuckled.

Immediately, Sunoo's face dropped, his head hanging low. Maybe it was too soon to be joking about this.

"Just so you know, even if you tried to break up with me, It wouldn't be possible." He grabbed Sunoo's hand, bringing it up to his lips, he placed a soft kiss on his skin. Their eyes met, and just like always, they could feel how much they needed each other, without saying a single word. "Us meeting was destiny, and that's something you can't escape."

His words were soft, but held immense weight. The two kept staring in silence, with Sunoo being the one to eventually break away.

"Did you enjoy being back home?" Sunoo asked, bringing some normality to the conversation. He was curious about what happened on his week away, more so, knowing he was off his medication.

Sunghoon nodded, stuffing his hand, still intertwined with Sunoo's, into his coat pocket. "I'll take you home soon. I don't care how busy you are with the debut, I'll get you home, I promise."

A layer of rosy pink blush spread across Sunoo's cheeks, he really did have the best boyfriend. "I'll look forward to it." He giggled, suddenly flinching at the feeling of something hitting his face.

He felt a rain drop.

"Oh no, lets take cover under that tree." Sunoo dragged Sunghoon behind him, as he ran to the tree. The leaves didn't stop all of the rain, but it was better than being out in the heavy pour that came down within seconds. "Wow that got intense really fast." He commented, staring out at the surprisingly bad weather.

Sunghoon had his eyes on the rain as well, less in shock, and more in memory. He was reminded of a moment, one that completely changed the course of his life. In a setting familiar to this, how could he not think of it? Fate wasn't always bad, things had actually worked out more perfect than he could have ever imagined.

Sucking in a deep breath, Sunghoon turned his head to Sunoo. He held a tender smile, and even with the rumbling sound of thunder, he found peace. He couldn't wait any longer, this was the right time.

Sunoo didn't expect to be tugged back under the rain. As his body quickly became drenched, he couldn't hide his confusion. "What the hell? We're gonna catch a cold."

"Doesn't this remind you of something?" Sunghoon spoke loud, considering the rain and thunder, it was hard to hear. The boy across from him didn't reply, only looking more confused. "Over two years ago you pulled me back in the rain. Do you really not remember? Something like 'If I told you I like you, would you run away again?' I remember, do you?"

Sunoo's breath became heavy, a wave of emotion rushing over him. His eyes glued to Sunghoon's, he gave his answer, without uttering a word.

"I genuinely thought we were over, I thought I had fucked things up once again. Then you pulled me back. You spoke those words. How could I have ever left you behind?"

Sunghoon smiled, seeing how Sunoo cried. It was nothing extreme, no weeping, no sobbing. It was caused by the memories, so intense for both of them. Their lives drastically different now, the past didn't even feel real anymore.

Though it was, and they could see that in each other.

"The world isn't bright without my sunshine, I don't want to ever see you fade. So I'm going to make a promise to you, right here, right now." Sunghoon swallowed down his nerves, pulling out a small box from his coat jacket.

Sunoo's breath hitched, as he slapped his hand over his mouth. "Oh my gosh Sunghoon, this...this is too much." He mumbled out.

"I'm not proposing." Sunghoon chuckled, pulling the boys hand away from his face. He held the box tight in his left palm, holding Sunoo's hand in his other. "I will never take you for granted Sunoo, because to me, you're the most precious person in this world. I could never leave you, and I never will. I promise that I will cherish you until the day I take my last breath, and do so in every life that comes after this one."

Pulling his hand away, Sunghoon opens the box. A glimmer of silver catches Sunoo's eyes, as he looks down at the items. He couldn't believe what he was seeing, Sunghoon really knew who he was. Who they both were.

Sunghoon carefully takes out one of the items, a silver band displaying a simple cut out of a snow flake. "For you, to be there, when I can't be. I may be like the ice, but I always melt when I'm near my sun."

He couldn't tell if Sunoo was shaking from the cold, or from how emotional this moment was. He steadied the boys hand, slipping on the ring, that fit perfectly around his slim finger.

Taking out the last item, similar to the last, it was a silver band. This time displaying a simple cut out of the sun. "For me, to be there, when you can't be."

He slipped the ring on his finger, swiftly putting the box back into his pocket. He took hold of both of Sunoo's hands, rubbing his thumb over that precious piece silver.

He loved the boy, he really did. Sunghoon broke his eyes away, falling now on Sunoo's perfectly plump lips. Kissing in the rain, so cliche, but they'd done it before, so why not now? Leaning in, Sunghoon held the boys cheek, pressing their lips together. Just like they were designed to be, they fit together as a perfect puzzle piece. Even after two years, he could still feel the sparks. Not everyone is that lucky, but not everyone has their own Kim Sunoo.

"The world may be changing, and so are we, but that doesn't mean I'll ever stop loving you. It's something I'm not capable of."
