"I literally showed up, and watched him skate, that's it!" Sunoo pouted, laying his head on the table. "Can someone please ask him why he's mad?"
"Stop worrying about it, he was probably just annoyed he lost." Jungwon commented, gently patting the boys head.
"He wouldn't act like that though, please someone ask him."
Heeseung shook his head, putting down the text book he was reading. "It's your relationship Sunoo, no need to get anyone else involved. Give him a day, he'll realize how ridiculous he's being."
"But I want things better nowwwww." Sunoo whined.
"Fine I'll ask him." Jungwon gave in, to Heeseung's disappointment.
Sunoo sprung up, latching onto his friends arm. "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"
"Keep quiet, or I'll kick you out of here." The librarian spoke, she seemed to have some sort of vendetta against the group, since she was always way more strict with them.
The boys quickly nodded, picking back up their text books. The four of them- yes four-had come to the library to study for their upcoming exams, but just like always, they got caught up in their never ending dramas.
Jake, the fourth, and quietest at the table, sat staring at the bookshelf behind Jungwon. There really wasn't anything special about this bookshelf, it just happened to be in his line of sight. Jake was very much preoccupied in his head, thinking to the conversation he had with Sunghoon two days prior.
"Jake,"
The discovery of Riki's crush gave him a lot to think about. He wondered why he liked him, and for how long. They'd only grown close when Riki moved to Seoul, so he still didn't know the boy that well. Plus he wasn't anything like his past relationships, the only thing he had similar was the height.
"Jake..."
Also, he wanted to be single for a while. He always found himself needing to be in a relationship, this was the time to focus on himself. This included dating around, not getting into anything serious. He was an adult, the maturity difference between him and Riki was immense.
"Jake!"
Jake flinched, snapping out of his thoughts. He glanced around the table, to all three boys looking at him. "What?" He muttered.
"Answer your phone, it won't stop ringing." Heeseung said, looking back to his text book.
"Oh okay." Jake silenced the ringing, before bringing the phone up to his ear. It was an unknown number, so he just expected some company would try to sell him something.
"Hello, is this Nishimura Riki's brother?"
____
Riki swung his legs back and forth, whilst staring to the floor. His hands gripped the plastic seat he was sitting on, almost hunching him over. He felt awful, and was only going to feel worse soon. If he was lucky, he'd just get a scolding, but it was highly likely that he was about to get kicked out of school.
"Are you Riki's brother?"
Riki turned his gaze to the door, seeing Jake standing there. He felt relieved to say the least, considering his parents would kill him if they found out. They were chill parents, but not that chill.
"Um yeah I am."
"Okay you can take a seat." The secretary stated, pointing to the seat beside Riki.
Jake had no idea what was going on, or what Riki had done. Nonetheless, he took the seat next to him, ready to face whatever mess Riki had gotten himself into this time.
The clicks of the secretaries keyboard, were all that filled the room. Riki felt way to ashamed to talk to Jake, and Jake was freaking out that Riki had him lying to his school. Neither wanted to speak, so neither did.
"Mr. Kang is waiting for you in his classroom."
"Mr. Kang?! I thought I was talking to the principle?" Riki choked out, feeling himself pulled to his feet by Jake.
"The principle is busy right now, and Mr. Kang insisted he wanted to see you."
"No this is bull-"
"Okay thank you, we'll be going now." Jake cut him off, pushing Riki out of the room.
Making sure to shut the door behind them, Jake checked around the empty hall. With no one else in sight, he was determined to get to the bottom of things. "What the hell did you do?"
"Ugh...I just smashed some kids head through a window-"
"Through a window?!" Jake's jaw dropped. "Riki this is not Night Flight, you can't just smash peoples heads through windows."
"Don't you think I know that? Stop yelling at me." Riki groaned, avoiding eye contact with Jake.
"So that's why you called me, you didn't think I'd yell at you."
"No, actually, I didn't want my parents finding out."
"Oh Riki your parents are the last of you concerns!" Jake scoffed, throwing his hands up in frustration. "You're meant to be debuting, God knows when, but fucking soon. If your company finds out about this, you could be finished!"
"Fine! Okay! I know..."
He didn't know when they started, but the tears were falling. Jake felt his heart sink to the bottom of his chest, a sudden guilt rushing over him.
"I'm just fed up of this stupid school. No one likes me, everyone picks on me. This kid literally spat on me earlier, and I just snapped." Riki said, little sniffles escaping him. He used his sleeve to wipe his tears, taking a deep breath in, to compose himself. "I know it was stupid, but I'm so tired and worn out, I can't put up with it."
Obviously what Riki did was wrong, but Jake couldn't help feeling sorry for the boy. He was clearly struggling with being away from his family, practicing way too much, trying to keep up with school work, and having an unhealthy school environment.
"Riki, I think we better discuss this in my room."
