Inuyasha made to walk back to the group, but Kyo jumped into sight all of a sudden. "Ah!"
The wolf spoke before he could get his heart to stop racing. "What was that all about?! Shinto only just returned, and you're already trying to get into the deep stuff."
Inuyasha walked around her; Kyo was surprised he wasn't biting for once. "Wait!"
But he didn't stop and continued to walk and ignore her. Kyo scratched her head, "huh....looks like he's actually thinking about stuff."

The night she had taken over with its starry display. Kyo gazed up at the moon, sitting on a high branch with Kirara on her lap, purring happily as she patted the little creature.
She felt her eyelids droop, and soon, she was off into the world of dreams.
(Dreaming)
There stood her mother, cooking up a delicious meal for her and her father to eat. But when her mother turned around, red stained the front of her kimono. Her features became impossibly skinny and grey, resembling a corpse whose flesh was sucked into itself and dry.
And that was precisely it. Her mother had become a corpse, along with her father, who fell beside the child version of herself. The little Kyo screamed and ran outside.
The scene warped to a rusted, bloody axe stuck into her father's chest and her mother's body being eaten away by maggots.
She screamed again and turned to her older self. Seeing purple flowers suddenly bloom from the barren ground. The wind picked up, and thousands of petals blew into the air and transformed into butterflies.
They surrounded her mother, who now appeared alive and healthy. A smile graced her mother's lips, and she said something, but Kyo couldn't hear it.
Then with no warning, she was sucked into a black hole.

Kyo awoke with a gasp; Kirara shot from her lap at the sudden jolt of the wolf girl's body. She wiped the sweat from her brow and tried to slow her breathing.
"What was that?" A green light shone from her pocket. A puzzled expression covered her face. The gem Sesshomaru had returned was glowing.
