Koga skidded to a halt as he prepared to knock some sense into his best friend. Where had she been all these years? He couldn't smell any grave soil, so she really was alive. He dodged an incoming slice from her claws.

"Kyo, snap out of it!"

She growled at him and landed on her feet, brown wings spread from her back, "when the hell did you get wings?!"

Her deep blue eyes glared at him, "It doesn't matter all you should be concerned about is dying!" She threw herself at him; he fell on the ground, desperately trying to stop her from slicing his throat open.

He got his foot under her stomach and launched her off him. "You always were better at fighting, but I've gotten a few new tricks while you were gone."

The female wolf rose and bared her fangs, a promise of death. "I don't know what's gotten into you, but I need you to remember me, dammit!" He charged forwards at the same time she did.

Shinto leaned against a tree, holding a hand up to face as she worried for her younger sister. That girl was too powerful; did she get it from their dad? The fact she closed every opening up there was impressive, she had to admit.

A strong wind blew, she tripped over a root peeking from the ground. Head first into a grassy area, up ahead was a village she could make out.

That's when she heard footsteps from behind. She dragged herself to another tree. Using it as a hiding spot, a voice called out...her name. Her yellow pupils went tiny, "no...it shouldn't be possible."

Her chest felt icy cold as a numb sensation made her face fill with the hatred she only felt towards one man. "Inuyasha has already found me; I thought he was dead, stuck to that tree."

"Shinto! Are you here? I smelt your scent...have you come back?"

He stepped forward a little more; her flowery-like scent was strong; he touched the tree she hid behind. He noticed a bare foot. His eyes widened when he shot around and found himself staring directly at those bright, yellow pupils that resembled buttercups.

"Your...it's really you...but how-" he noticed the faded scar stretching from her chin to just underneath her eye. He could tell by the surface of it just how deep it had been. Any closer, and he could've blinded her on that day so many years ago.

He sensed the punch way before she even got close. He caught the angel's wrist, "Shinto..."

"I told you I never wanted to see you again."

He let go and asked, "so why are you here then?"

"Sinta sent me down here again because of some meeting our elders wanted to see me about. She's blocked all entry, so I can't return; we would not be meeting if that wasn't the case."

Shinto peered up, seeming to think up a plan to go back. His heart was aching. He'd wanted to see her so long after that incident. "You just got here, Shinto."

Her eyes used to hold such affection for him. Now it was nothing but a cold glare whenever she looked at him. "At least stay with us until you figure out how to return home. Sinta must've done this for a good reason."

She scoffed, "there's no way I'm staying with you, and who's us?"

Her question was answered by a girl who looked very much like Kikyo but wore strange clothes heading towards them.

"You still see Kikyo?" Her voice was so sharp and harsh.

"No, it's not her. This is Kagome; she's the reincarnation of Kikyo. If you come, I can explain." Kagome heard what Inuyasha had said to the stranger he seemed to know.

Her body language told Kagome that she was shut off by anyone approaching her.

"Um, Inuyasha, who is this?" The dog demon turned to Kagome and replied, "I'll explain it later."

Shinto was taken aback when he had a pleading expression on his face. "Just please come with us...with me, it's all I'm asking."

The angel kept her features stone cold, "I'm not going anywhere with you; this meeting was not by chance but by mistake. Once I know how my sister is blocking all the entrances. I'm gone."

Kagome placed a hand on his shoulder, "hey, uh...I think you should just let this girl be." Inuyasha would have done that, but every part of him wanted to amend things. He'd had the guilt stored inside for so long, and now she was back. He didn't see this as a mistake; he saw it as a second chance.

"You're coming whether you like it or not; I'm not missing this opportunity." Before she could react to his words, he scooped her up by her legs and carried her over his shoulder.

"Hey, put me down! I'm not going with you!" She pounded on his back repeatedly, but it did nothing.

Kagome, unsure, just kept quiet until they got back to Kaede, which was still not peaceful. The moment Kyo spotted Inuyasha, she swooped on him. He dropped Shinto, and she rolled onto the dirt. "Ow..."

"What the hell is this crazy bitch doing?!" He drew his sword, but Koga kicked the blade away. "Wha- Koga, why are you here?!"

"Because my best friend, who I thought dead, is trying to kill me because she's been brainwashed me, and you killed her parents!"

Inuyasha dodged along with Koga, the flying kick Kyo narrowly missed them. It crushed the earth underneath, though.

"How do we stop her?"

Koga shrugged his shoulders, and Inuyasha rolled his eyes. "That's REAL helpful!"

Shinto sat up with a groan, watching this strange girl fight Inuyasha and the male wolf named Koga. So she's been brainwashed?

Shinto stood on her feet and brought her arm towards the girl. Her palm produced a blinding white light. Everyone shielded their faces.

It ceased, and the wolf girl dropped like a fly, eyes opening as she groaned. Koga raced to her side, and immdiealty hugged her as his relief flooded in from her being alive and her memory corrected.

"Damn, Kyo, I missed you!" She shouted his name in surprise and happiness.

Inuyasha stared at Shinto, "how'd you do that?"

She folded her arms across her chest, a gesture of not wanting to speak but answered anyway. "It's an ability all angels have; we can remove any spell from a person that has been wrongfully cast upon."

"Oh."

Everything had been explained to the flower, Naraku's brainwashing, Inuyasha and his friend's journey. The only thing not brought up was what happened between Shinto and Inuyasha.

Kyo shuffled beside the angel, "so I remembered where I'd seen you from. You were the girl who played in the field of buttercups with the dog guy."

"Y-you saw us then? So you were there when I was."

"Yup." Shinto wanted to sink into the ground as the memory resurfaced. She was so naive and stupid back then.

Kyo noticed the solemn look on the angel's face. Kagome approached the wolf, "so the rest of us were talking and thought, why don't you join the group since this day was chaotic?. We could help each other out."

Kyo knew if she did, she would see Koga often and wrap her head around the last 50 years. "Sure!"

Kagome nervously brought her attention to the angel. "What about you?...Shinto."

"No."

Kagome smiled as best she could, "alright, well-"

Inuyasha cut in, "Shinto, where will you go?" She averted her gaze as he realised she was aware of this. "You can't get home; join us until you can."

Kyo could sense the tension between the two just by how guarded the girl appeared. A sigh left her lips, "indeed, I don't have anywhere to go, so I'll stay until then."

He smiled as the rest did, slumping against the wall. Kyo felt like Shinto would need a friend in this crazy situation. She made up her mind that they should stick with one another.
