The Angel & Wolf (being edited)

Shinto awoke to the sound of a crackling fire; her head ached something chronic. She realised she was lying on a white sheet and when she looked across there was a boy, his eyes were closed, and he was leaning against the wall.

She inspected him further; his hair was long and white. He had ears resembling a dog's, so he was a demon. His voice startled the angel as she thought he was asleep.

"So you're awake, huh?"

"Uh, yes! What happened?"

He opened his lids; they were a beautiful amber. He was pretty handsome as well.

"I heard a scream, so I raced and saw you unconscious. You were bleeding a little from your head, but I cleaned you up and brought you here."

The angel smiled weakly. "Well, thank you for that...um.."

"Inuyasha." He said.

"Thank you, Inuyasha; I'm Shinto, by the way."

He gave a smile back. "No problem."

The two didn't know that their meeting would become a friendship and eventually stronger.

It had been quite a bit since the murder of her parents, and she had been able to move on a tad. Currently, she was racing Koga, who was falling behind. "Come on, slowpoke; you're supposed to be the fast one out of the two of us!"

Koga growled his dissatisfaction. " You went ahead before me, Kyo!"

He used all the power in his legs to catch up to her. Soon, they were side by side, both grinning like fools as the finish line came closer.

"See ya at the finish line, loser!" Kyo said.

Koga scoffed. "As if." He ran as fast as he could and overtook the female wolf by a metre across the line. He jumped up and down as Kyo crossed as well. "See, I told you I would win." He flashed her a toothy grin.

She shoved him hard, and he toppled on his butt. "Geez, you're such a sore loser, Kyo."

She stopped and smirked, "oh yeah?" Kyo hopped atop him before he got up. They got into a playful scuffle. He tried getting underneath her, but she grabbed his arms and pinned him.

She brought her nose to his, briefly touching. "Gotcha." He rolled his eyes and pushed her off him. Then, the conversation took a direction she didn't want to venture into, but it had been on her mind.

"Koga."

He turned her way. "Yes?".

She drew a circle in the dirt, "did you promise to marry a girl on a double rainbow?"

He scratched his cheek, "Oh uh...yeah, She was scared, so I thought that might help her."

Kyo felt her heart crumble, "how nice of you."

They both looked up when they heard a feminine giggle from a bit away. But they managed to make out what looked to be a couple mucking about in a field of buttercups.

Kyo thought that it must be wonderful to be with the one you love.
