Awakened and returned

The years went by in a blast. Kyo found herself waking up in the cave she remembered venturing into. She gripped her head, "ugh, how long was I asleep for?" A voice answered back from the darkness, "50 years."

It was a man who sounded scratchy and hoarse. Startled by the sudden response, Kyo snarled as he approached.

As he came into view, she saw his inky black hair and red eyes. "Who are you?" He smiled without any warmth.

"I'm Naraku." He extended a hand, and Kyo cautiously accepted, but the moment their hands touched. A flash of memories played in front of her vision. Naraku altered vital factors of her past.

"Who are these people killing my parents?" A tear slid down the wolf girl's cheek.

"Inuyasha and Koga."

Kyo's expression turned to anger as hate for the wrong people burned in her gut. "I need to avenge them."

"You will be able to do so as my assassin."

"So you want me to kill for you?"

He nodded, "there's one more thing I think you'll need."

She arched a brow. He made a motion with his finger for her to turn around. She listened; his fingers were placed on her spine.

He did not say a word as a purple glow emitted from his palms. Cracks came from the bones in her back, and she screamed as something grew from within. They pierced through muscle and flesh as new bones formed between her shoulder blades, brown feathered wings sprouting free.

She landed on her front and threw up, a pain so vile, along with the feeling of things moving, grinding inside until the wings had grown. Naraku scowled at the pile of vomit.

"How disgusting."

Kyo glared at him. "What the hell was that?!" He simply smiled, "I thought I'd just give you an addition to your body."

In reality, he'd added a part of himself to her, so he knew where she was. Now that he muddled up her memories, she'd be a willing slave

Shinto hid in her room as angry angels banged on her door. "Get out here, you filth! We'll tear those wings right off your back!"

"You don't deserve to wear those wings!"

To an angel, their wings were an honour, their most prized asset; to lose them meant they were nothing, worthless, so usually, many ended up killing themselves.

Shinto bit back the tears threatening to fall. Others still stood outside her door, yelling more hurtful words.

Suddenly they were quiet as a boom was heard and some groans of pain. Shinto looked up and saw her sister walk through, the glow on her palms fading as she approached.

"I've handled them; they won't be bothering you." Shinto opened her arms, and Sinta hugged her big sister.

"What would I do without you?"

"You'd be wandering around hopelessly."

"Yeah, you're right."

A familiar shing sounded; Johnny teleported in front of his friend. "Sinta told me those angels were belittling you again."

Shinto gave her sister a scolding expression. "I'm fine. I don't need you here."

Shinto stood up and gestured for him to go, but he stayed. He reached out a hand and brushed the noticeable scar.  You could see the pale but deep mark stretching from her chin to just under her eye. She'd been wrong to think a cut that deep wouldn't scar.

He cupped her cheek, "I wish you would tell me who done this to you. I'd have him killed on the spot."

She slapped his hand away "no...I want to forget." Johnny's pink eyes flared, "your, my soul-"

Her black hair spun around like a blanket of dark paint. "I am not your soulmate! When will you listen?!"

His pupils widened, he grabbed his forearm. Shinto sighed, "You deserve someone better than me."

Johnny shook his head, "I don't want somebody else." Sinta seemed downcast about that.

The angel let her wings out from the gaps in her muscles. "Johnny, you'll make somebody happy, but I just want us to be friends."

Before anyone spoke, the doors flung open, and a much older angel stared straight at Shinto. "You."

"What?"

"Meet the rest of us in the hall." The old angel left the room.

Sinta knew precisely what they were going to do. Johnny had warped back to his realm; luckily, Sinta grabbed her sister's wrist.

"I'm sorry."

Shinto cocked her head, "for what?"

"For doing this again."

The floor disappeared, and like all those years ago, she fell through but was prepared this time, flying so she didn't fall.

She landed safely on the ground, "Sinta, why?!"

She needed to return there, but Sinta would have blocked any openings.

Inuyasha sat on the end of Kagome's bike. A scent he'd never forget filled his nose. He was shocked, "there's no way..." without warning, he jumped off the bike.

"Inuyasha?!" Kagome shouted.

Koga ran past as well, which confused the group more. "Get the hell out of the way!" A female wolf demon flying in the air was chasing him, trying to throw attack after attack.

"Kyo, it's me, Koga!"

She snarled at him, "I know you killed my family!"

The wolf demon had the most shocked expression, "I didn't kill your parents; Sesshomaru did!"
