"He said that?"

Shinto nodded; the words were still clogged in her throat. Leaving her speechless, Kyo sighed and placed her hand atop Shinto's knuckle.

"Men are stupid; that's all it comes down to. I'm done being upset, it's been going on for too long, and I forbid you to get stuck in the same rut I did."

The angel's gaze met the wolf's blue ones, "it's not going to be so easy."

Kyo pulled Shinto closer by the ear. "Ow, Kyo!"

"Listen to me, Inuyasha isn't worth getting upset over. We'll deal with our female bullshit in a good way, maybe even a happy way. So no more moping about."

Kyo released her friend's ear, and Shinto rubbed the sore spot. "The message is heard loud and clear."

Kyo smiled, "good. So we're clear you won't be leaving this time?"

Shinto felt a slight smile tug at her lips, "of course." The wolf put Shinto in a headlock and gave her a noogie. "If you do, you'll regret it!"

"Ow, I get it!"

Kyo had her tongue poking out as she tried to tie the stems of flowers together, but each broke. "This is so hard."

Shinto shook her head, amused. "You're being too rough with your hands- here." Her friend took the ruined crown and wove a few strands of grass to fix the nightmare Kyo made.

"Now, Queen, lower thy head so I may bestow the crown to thee."

Kyo did so, Shinto sitting the flower crown around her ears. They looked at one another and burst out laughing. The two hadn't felt such joy for ages.

Koga happened to pick up the sound of their laughter; he was surprised to see his childhood friend happy. But in no way should he be thinking it odd. The unjustified anger he held towards Kyo had withered away. Now all remained was guilt but being as stubborn as he was. Koga couldn't find the courage to amend it.

So he left things alone.
