I'm here

Her brown hair lay sprawled beneath her as the stumps were no longer there. Naraku had ripped them out and caused her to be paralysed for a while.

But the pain had become so bad she didn't want to move. Her back had two angry, sore holes that were becoming prone to infection.

Her limbs felt numb but ached; at the same time, she felt hopeless. Her blue pupils were dull, devoid of any joy. Was she going to die here?

She still had to avenge her parents, who the Lord dude needlessly killed. Naraku slithered into view; her eyes moved ever so slightly in his direction.

"How pathetic you look lying there."

He didn't need to remind her; she knew what sort of sorry state she was in. Kyo's wrists had bright red marks from being chained up too long.

Naraku took great satisfaction in her suffering. But soon, his fun would end; his red pupils darted across the room as a piece of wood flew at him.

The man dodged it, and the wolf standing in the hole was pissed. He bared his fangs, "give me my friend."

Meanwhile, Shinto was on Kirara beside Inuyasha, who carried Kagome on his back. "Man, I can't believe that bastard didn't tell us he'd found her!"

Kagome helped track down Koga by using her ability to sense the shards. "Make a left!"

The angel's heart hammered in her chest. "Please be alright, Kyo."

Soon the castle came into view, and Inuyasha sped up a little. His nose could detect the dried blood from far away. He decided not to mention this in case it caused Shinto to panic.

Koga had tried attacking Naraku head-on, but it proved useless. So he scooped Kyo in his arms, preventing her from being used as bait. The man made of many demons laughed. He launched his power at the two wolves.

Koga took each hit so that Kyo wouldn't be injured further. The girl came to her senses as she recognised the black blur of hair.

"Koga?"

His face shot straight to her, "oh, you're conscious!"

"You're here."

He caressed her cheek, "yes, Kyo, I'm here, and I won't ever let you out of my sight again."

The broken expression she wore physically hurt him. This fueled his rage, "I'll make you pay for what you've done!"

Naraku only laughed, "how do you plan to fight me when you have to protect her too?"

Koga was in a tough spot; he'd charged in like a blazing bull without a plan. "I'll make your deaths quick!"

A tentacle shot towards them; Koga hugged Kyo to offer what little protection he could.

A sword slashed the tentacles to shreds. Shinto jumped off Kirara as Inuyasha stood with Tessaiga, ready for battle.

"Of course, you fools meddle in my business."

Shinto looked around furiously for her friend. When she spotted the two, she raced and flung her arms around Kyo—pushing Koga aside as tears streamed down her cheeks. "You're ok! You're ok!"

"Thanks for pushing me out of the way."

Shinto locked eyes on him, "says the dick who didn't let us know you'd found her."

But the danger wasn't over as Shinto inspected Kyo's wounds and Inuyasha battled the enemy. Naraku found a way to slip a tentacle past them and latch onto the angel's ankle.

She screamed as Naraku pulled her upside down in the air. "Shinto!" Inuyasha went to attack, but a knife was put to her throat.

"You do that, Inuyasha and I'll slice her pretty throat open." He looked the black-haired angel up and down.

"Kyo, remember when I said you'd be missing more than some limbs."

She raised herself slowly, "no...don't."

"Hmm, you catch on quickly. But I've never seen an angel with no wings. Let's test the theory of an angel's pride over their wings."

Shinto went visibly pale, Inuyasha tried to get her out of the demon's grasp, but Kagome held him back for her safety.
