Tink:
Waking up to my sister sobbing makes me want to punch someone. "Peter," I sigh, struggling to get out of his grasp. "Peter!" I yelp as he holds me tighter. I forcefully shove him away from me. I sit on the floor next to Rose, crossing my legs. "Come here," I sigh. "No, I got it," Jace says, patting my shoulder. "Excuse me?" I gasp. "You heard him, get back up here," Peter says. "I don't want to Peter. My sister is crying and a guy thinks it's okay to tell me to go away. That isn't okay!" I exclaim. "I'm calling Magnus," Jace says all of the sudden. "The magic of Neverland cannot be reversed. The Warlock can't help," Peter says.
"That's the thing. I had cell phone reception and I heard an airplane. If we were in Neverland, which is on the second star to the right, we wouldn't have any of those things," Jace says. "Shut up! It's not even about that, idiots," I say, looking at the tears. Tears of fear, not loss. "Closet, let's go," I say, taking her hand. She tells me about her dream and I don't know whether to cheer or cry with her. I chose careful word placement.
"Rose, honey, that was a long time ago. Those awful things chase all Demigods. Not just you Rose. You know who your dad is now! Focus on that! Nathan doesn't blame you. He is the sweetest guy ever and I honestly don't believe he has what it takes to hold a grudge," I explain. "I know your right, but it still hurts like hell," she says. I sigh, putting my arm around her. "Sweetheart, that's why I have Ben and Jerrys. That's also why we've got guys like Jace and Nathan. I also believe that is why you have me," I say, hugging her tightly.
"I hope your okay with the sleep you got because now we have a mission," I say as Rose and I exit the closet. "Not necessary," she protests. "Yes it is. Peter get the Nicholas Sparks' collection .This isn't as necessary but I still really want to see it. Jace, top off. Nathan grab the spoons," I say, going into the living room. "Nice try sugar but I think I'll keep my clothes on," Jace says. "Hey, I'm going down swinging," I respond, turning on the television. I sit in a side chair, leaving the couch for Rose, Nathan and Jace.
"Which kind do you want Rose?" Peter asks, digging around in my freezer. "Vanilla," she says, obviously protesting the whole idea of the plan. "Suit yourself," Peter says, grabbing the one called "Everything but the Kitchen Sink". He tosses the vanilla to Rose and sits on the floor. "It's nine o'clock in the morning and you're eating ice cream?" Sam asks. "Hey, mending a broken heart here! It's serious business," Peter says with his mouth full. "Alright, well we're gonna shove off. Call if you need anything," Sam says , slinging a bag over his shoulder. "Wait!" I say as the door shuts. I bolt off the chair and out the door. Sam looks confused when I hug him. "Thanks," I say as I hug Dean. "It's just what we do kid, watch out for each other okay?" Dean asks. I nod, going back into the house.
"Guys, it snowed! Forget the movies, let's go out side!" I yell. "I don't think so. We've got work to do. The Institute is safer for us so we have moving to do," Logan says, coming out of Grandma's room in a plaid shirt and jeans. "Me and Peter can pack up. It'll be quick," I say, twirling my hand and playing with the cloud of purple that appears. "You are one creepy girl," Logan says with a laugh.
My room is packed up in about ten minutes. There wasn't much to do anyway because I have a room at the Institute. Logan has wanted me there several times. Honestly, it's not that bad. Every body there is very nice and I get to see what Logan's life is like when I'm not around. "You ready?" Peter asks, knocking on the door frame. "Yeah, I'm good. I think we're ready to go. Logan is ready and scaring me. Every time I come near him, he glares," Peter says, leaning against the door. I look at him and feel me eyes fill with tears. "Come here," he sighs, opening his arms. I run and hold him tight. "What's wrong?" He asks surprised.
"No idea," I answer. "Lets go you two," Logan says, seeming more edgy by the second. "Daddy? Are you okay?" I ask, following him to the car. "Yeah. Jean had an assignment and I'm just worried," Logan says. "Dad, I'm sure she's fine. She's a big girl and can handle a team of angry teenagers, I'm sure she can handle whatever Xavier has her on," I say. "I'm sure your right. Peter also has me worried. I didn't think that I was gonna be this kind of dad, but I just really hate him right now," Logan says. I giggle and push my hair back behind my ear.
Arriving at the Institute is exactly as I remember from when I was a kid. The mahogany wood and smell of discipline and order. "Wow, this place looks fancy," Rose says, looking around. I feel a hand on my side and know better than to turn around. "Tink, I just got a text. Magnus has a case for us but Alec is you know, busy. Suit up ballerina, we've got a job," Jace whispers in my ear. I'm surprised I heard it all. He was quiet and the words were rushed. "Dad, I'm gonna go get set up in my room," I say. "Rose is with you, Peter and Jace and Nathan across the hall," he instructs, before strolling down the hall.
"Guys, I'll show you guys. Tink take Rose," Jace says, he's already kicked on the team work. "Come on," I sigh, going up the stairs. Once in our room I shut the door and start changing. "Whoah, why is that necessary?" Rose asks. "I've got a job and I need my uniform. You stay here and keep Peter and my dad sane. Watch the door and the outside window. If anything goes strange or weird, get Bobby. His number is on the bathroom counter. Call from my room phone and he won't miss the call. He should have quick response. Unless he's skating or creating snow cones at the local fair," I say, strapping on my leather boots that go with the whole leather, gothic look. "Your uniform kicks ass," Nathan says from behind me.
"Thanks," I mutter, pulling my hair out of the back of my jacket. "Helmet princess danger. We don't have time for the car," Jace says, tossing me a helmet. "Your going somewhere wrapped in leather and on his motorcycle? What are you doing?" Peter asks. "A job. Just like Dad, just like Sam and Dean. I am filling in for Alec. I'll be fine Peter. I promise," I say. "No, your not going," Peter says. "Look, we don't have time for this. I know you think that I am dangerous and all I want to do is hurt the both of them, but seriously, you won't take her on hunts and neither will her dad. I'm granting wishes. I wouldn't have to if the world was a wish granting factory, but it's not. So, goodbye Peter, we might be back tomorrow at the earliest," Jace says.
