Rose:

I sat on the couch next to Tink, handing her the bowl and she took it gratefully. “So why do you think everyone’s getting sick?” “The snow?” she asked sipping the soup, and I shrugged, “Fair enough.”

We watched the movie and I found myself reminiscing about how we used to watch movies like this a lot, then all of the crap happened and the kids and yeah.

“It’s been awhile since we’ve done something like this.” I commented and she nodded, agreeing. “It has, back when you and Jace were just friends.” “Friends? We practically went from being annoyed at each other to making out to boyfriend and girlfriend.” I said laughing and she sh’ed me. “Don’t let him hear that.” she said laughing and I started laughing too, then there was another fit of coughing. “I’ll grab the tissues.” I said, hopping up and Matthew ran up the stairs. “Movie!” he exclaimed and I picked him up easily. “Yes, movie, want to watch?” “Yeah!” he said laughing, and with the other hand I grabbed a few tissues before going back to the couch.

He looked over at Tessa. “Her nose is red.” he said and she stuck her tongue out at him. “Hush.” I laughed again and sat him on the other side of me, better me getting sick than her.

“OH!” he’d exclaim every time they’d perform a spell in the movie, or things got heated up. “You sure you want your kid watching this stuff?” she asked, and I shrugged, “Ah, he’ll be fine.” “Fire!” he yelled, clapping his hands together with a look of utter glee and I laughed. “Maybe not.”

Trevor burst up the stairs looking happier than a kid on Christmas, “Tinkerbell Pan! Guess what I just did?!” she raised an eyebrow, “What?” “I just kissed Sarah, and she called me her boyfriend!” he exclaimed, fist bumping the air and I laughed, “Oh...Peter’s not gonna be happy about that.” “Oh shit I forgot about Peter.” he muttered.

“You cussed.” Matthew said plainly, looking unamused and Trevor rubbed the back of his neck. “Um...whoops? Sorry kid-o.” “Mhm.” Matthew said crossing his arms.

The sass was definitely one of the things he got from me, I was very proud.

My phone rang and it was Jace, “I’m hungry and I can’t get out of bed.” he said and I groaned, “I was watching a movie with Tink and Matthew, can’t you wait?” “Can’t you help your sick husband?” he retorted and I frowned. “Fine, Jace, I’ll be there in a little bit.”

“Come on Matthew, daddy needs some food and can’t get up off his lazy butt.” I said and he sighed, “Bye Auntie, bye Trevor.”

On the way home we listened to the radio, and it was still playing Christmas songs. A fact I found extremely aggravating.

At home Jace was laid up in bed, looking like death had woken him up. “I’m back!” I said opening the fridge and he groaned, “I’m starving.” “As men tend to be.” I muttered, grabbing some left overs from the Christmas party and heated them up before delivering them to Jace.

“Thank the gods, I was dying.” he muttered, devouring the food and I rolled my eyes. “I’m sure you were.” he frowned, “It’s been awhile since I’ve heard you be sarcastic.” “It’s one of my best traits, right?” I said smirking and this time he rolled his eyes. “Oh you know you love it.”

His nose was red too, his blond hair unkempt and messy, and his normally bright blue eyes looked tired.

“You feeling better?” I asked after he finished and he closed his eyes, “Very much so, thanks.” “No problem.” I replied, picking the plate up and setting it in the dishwasher.

Matthew had curled up on the couch and turned on the t.v. to watch some HBO movies, one of the just so happened to be Harry Potter. Ah irony.
