Tink:
"Sleepy time!" Peter yells as we go upstairs into our apartment. "Fine, good night daddy," the girls say, hugging their father and going into their room. "Can you put me to bed?" Nathan asks, pulling on Peter's arm. "Yeah, come on bud," he says, holding Nathan's hand on the way to his room. "You should've seen the way Peter looked at you. It gave me the warm and fuzzies. He looked at you as if the world wasn't moving, as if the only thing that mattered was how the snow was falling on your hair, how the lights shone in your eyes. Honestly I hope I have something like that one day," Trevor sighs, taking his coat off. "Hey, I'm checking out," Sarah says, coming upstairs.
"Alright, I'll see you tomorrow," I tell Peter's sister. She nods, gives Trevor a wave and leaves the house. "Well isn't she gorgeous," Trevor laughs. "Take her to Broadway," I say. He literally laughs at me. "I know Sarah and she loves Broadway," I say, hitting his arm. "Fine, I'll go ask her," Trevor says, chasing her down the stairs. I wait for two minutes for him to come back. "I'm going to Broadway!" He exclaims with snow flakes in his hair. He lifts me up in his arms, shouting about it. "Trevor my kids are trying to sleep," I say when he puts me down.
"Actually sleeping is going to be awesome," Peter laughs, dumping my coffee down the sink. "That's what I was thinking," I laugh, hugging him. "Okay the kids have school, we've got shopping you've got a date, tomorrow is busy," Peter says. "Right, I don't have a car," Trevor says, his face falling. "Walk or take the train. Make sure you are holding her securely when the train comes to a stop though. Don't hurt her," Peter says, pulling me down the hall. "Sure thing," Trevor says, nodding and going into his room.
All too quickly
"Mommy it's Christmas!" Samantha yells as her brother and her sister jump all over our bed. "What time is it?" Peter groans. "A reasonable 7:30," Trevor announces. "Woo!" He yells, jumping up and running to the living room. Sarah and Trevor are in the kitchen making hot chocolate. "Stockings first," Peter announces to all of our pajama clad family. Peter never ever insists on stockings. Stockings come last.
Oh hot damn I forgot to test him.
"Kids can you please join Sarah in the kitchen. I need to give daddy is very important, private gift," I mutter, glancing at Sarah with a nod. She ushers the kids into the kitchen. Peter tries to come near me but he gets stuck by the fire. "I was worried Santa was a demon but I guess we caught dad," Delilah says, looking at Trevor. She pulls a seraph blade out of her pocket and jams it into his back. Lightning flickers inside him and she laughs. "I knew there was something all together too cute about that guy," she shrugs.
"Peter," I sigh, staring at him. "Oh you know it isn't him. You knew something was off when I practically begged you to take my clothes off. You wanted to believe it was just a confidence boost," he says, his eyes going black. "Hand me the knife," I say, grabbing back at her. She hands me the seraph blade just as Trevor wakes up. New seraph blades slay the possession, and let the person live. I shut my eyes and step into the circle. "Baby I'm sorry for the immense amount of pain you are about to feel," I sigh, stabbing him in the shoulder.
Christmas morning, full of stabbing people I care about. Yay.
