Tink:
"So how long are you going to be gone?" I ask Peter after dressing for bed and sitting down at the vanity in the corner of the bedroom. "Seven months at most," he shrugs, throwing his shirt in a hamper. I look down at my hands. I am acting like a teenager. Wow. I start to get all giggle when I notice I will be exactly nine months pregnant when he comes back. "What?" Peter asks at my ear. I jump a little and smile at him in the mirror.
"Rose is making a big deal without even knowing the facts. Seven months isn't too long. I should be okay. That's only like an entire school year," I say, laughing. "See, not too bad," he says, kissing my cheek and smiling. "You are really blushing! Why?" Peter says, seeming shocked as I go to brush my teeth. "I don't even know. It's not like I haven't seen you in your boxers! I just, I don't even know right now," I say, laughing and blushing. When I exit the on suite bathroom, Peter is sitting on the bed with his arms behind him, propping him up and his legs stretched in front of him. "Oh god, I can't even right now. I'm going to get some water," I mutter, keeping my eyes down and leaving the room.
"Rose, oh my god, I don't know what the heck is going on but I am acting like a freaking fifteen year old girl who just saw a celebrity and then that celebrity asked them out," I say, picking up my cell. "You know she can't talk to you on this thing right?" Jace asks, sounding a little bit happy. "You can feel how I feel right?" "Of course, just go back in there and like make out or something. I don't know. This is so weird," Jace says, letting out a long sigh.
I go back into the room and Peter is sitting just like before and when he sees me he just laughs a little bit. "What?" I ask as I sit down beside him. "You are jittery and it's cute," he shrugs. I smile and lean on his shoulder. "I can't believe you are defying a direct order from your commanding officer," he says quietly, turning so he is facing me. "Hey, I am not sure I want to make out with you right now," I giggle, climbing underneath the covers. "Well that's not the Tink I know," he says. I can hear the smile in his voice even after he turned off the lights. "Goodnight sweetheart. I love you," he says. "I love you too," I sigh with a yawn.
When I wake up, I go straight into the kitchen to start making breakfast. Thanks the gods that my dad actually knows me. Today is the last day that Peter is going to be here and I want to make it special. I start on the bacon eggs, sausage, cinnamon rolls and hash browns when Peter comes into the kitchen. He is actually dressed in blue jeans, an All Time Low t-shirt and his hair is wet. "Good morning," he says, reaching around me to grab a coffe mug. "Good morning," I say turning away from the food for a moment to kiss him. "Oh my god, you hear that?" He asks, pulling me closer to him and setting down the coffee mug. "What?" I ask. "Nothing. No one telling us that we can't kiss in the kitchen or the living room or anywhere else for that matter. No groaning from Jace and your dad and Rose," he tells me, lighting up. I laugh and go back to the stove when we hear the bell from downstairs.
"I'll go. I seem to be a little more dressed then you are," he says.
He's right unfortunately. I am in a pair of underwear and one of his t-shirts. "Just when I thought we were free," Peter says, coming back into the house. "Hey sis," Rose says. Jace follows them in, looking at me like he knows something I don't. "Hey guys. Jace, what's wrong pumpkin?" I ask, turning everything off because brunch is ready. "I was just thinking. If Wendy is alive, we're not really looking for anything are we?" He asks, helping me set the table. "Well I guess not," I say. He has a point. If my mom is alive, there is no real hunt. Wow.
Rose doesn't say anything to Peter. She just consistently glares at him which is actually getting on my nerves. He's part of the family now and sometimes its okay to argue but all the yelling and hostility has to stop. "Would you cut it out Rose? Seven months that it. Seven. You yell at him all the time about him doing this but guess what? It's not making a difference. Peter is still going to do this and you just need to stop. The glaring and the attitude, you need to cut it out. If this were Jace or Nathan that were leaving and I was constantly yelling and glaring and being rude, you would be pjssed off too. Just stop," I say, finally losing it. "Nathan has nothing to do with this," she says quietly. "No, you know what, he does. He is a shining example. Peter is leaving to stand up for what is right. Just like Nathan did, he is also a giant part of my life, just like Nathan was to you. So yeah he does," I exclaim.
"Peter's my friend too, contrary to common belief, me yelling at him isn't all about you. Trying to guilt him into staying, not all about Tinkerbell. Not everything everyone does is all about you!" Rose says. "He's my husband Rose, you don't even like him! I never once said it was all about me!" I shout. "Well you certainly act like it Mrs. High and Mighty!" "Get out Rose," I say calmly. "What?" She asks like she is actually shocked. "I said get out. I just realized I don't actually have to put up with this. Get out of my house," I say. Rose and Jace leave and I am nearly in tears. "That was intense," Peter sighs, pulling me to his chest. "Yeah, well it needed to be said," I say, my lower lip trembling. "I know," he sighs and I start crying.
