Rose:

She hugged me then turned to Peter before hugging him. I smile looking at how happy she looks and grab Jace’s arm, “We should give them some privacy.” “Are you kidding me? They had a whole week of privacy and god knows what else. Nope, we’re going to do something tonight.” Jace said .” he s.

He looked at Peter and Tink, “Snap, snap  kids, we’re going to the movies.” he announced as he snapped his fingers for emphasis. Tink laughed, “Okay Mr. Pushy.” I laughed and looked at Peter. I gave Tink and Jace the “one-moment” finger before dragging Peter into the kids room.

After I closed the door he looked at me confused, “What exactly are you doing?” “Asking you a couple of questions.” I replied before crossing my arms, he raised an eyebrow but realized there wasn’t any way he was going to get out of this.

“One. Are you still planning on leaving?”

“Yes.” he replied instantly, and I frowned. “You know it’s going to crush Tink.” “I’ll be fine.” he groaned, sounding like a child. I resisted the urge to slap him, “You don’t know that!” I exclaimed, sighing.

“Alright then, two. What about your kids?” “What do you mean?” he asked, seeming confused and I walked over to him. “By the time you come back they may not recognize you! All they’ll know you from is pictures and stories. Possibly Disney movies. Still, you need to be around for them!”

Peter glared at me, “Who are you to tell me how I’m supposed to be a parent?” I was starting to get mad now, “Who am I?! You’re practically deserting them! By the sounds of it you don’t know how to be a parent either!” I yelled, and the door opened. Jace poked his head in. “Heard yelling, what’s happening?”

“Nothing. Just wondering how Peter’s going to be a father, if he comes back.” I say, practically spitting the words out.

At this point I didn’t care how much he cared about what I said, he needed to hear them, gods knows Tink was thinking it.

Jace sighed at Peter, “Come on. Let’s just watch the movie.” I walk over to him, “Gladly.”

Peter and I didn’t speak the whole way to the movie, Tink glanced back at me, “So...what’d you do while we were gone.” “Worked on the Thorn, the kids room, your room.” I said, avoiding looking at Peter. Tink smiled, “Other than that.” “Well...Jace and I kissed...nothing unusual there…” I said with a laugh, not daring to go into detail with that.

In the movie theater we bought tickets to some probably cheesy, cheap PG-13 horror movie. My guess was that if either Tink or I got scared Jace and Peter could put their arms around us. Cliche as fuck.

Halfway through Jace looked at me, “You don’t look scared.” “We’ve seen way scarier things than this.” I replied back in a whisper after some eighth graders “SHHHH” us.

Peter was holding Tink regardless of whether she was scared. She seemed perfectly okay with that.

After the movie Tink rubbed her eyes, “I’m tired,” she looked at me, “I think Peter and I are going to go back to the Thorn. I’ll see you two tomorrow.” She and Peter headed to the car and Jace sighed, “I’ll drive you back then Rose and I can switch into our cars.” he said, putting his arm around my waist and leading me to the car.

Since I was in no mood to sit by Peter I sat in shotgun beside Jace, and looked out the window. How could he still be planning on leaving? I wondered to myself sadly.

We finally got to the Thorn and I got out to hug Tink. “Goodnight sis.” I told her, and she smiled, “Goodnight. Be good with Jace tonight.” she winked and headed inside, Jace laughed too. Peter headed in without another word. Yeah, that’s right, let that guilt seep in. I thought to myself as he walked off.

When we finally got into our car on the way back to the Institute Jace looked at me, “Are you okay?” “Just grand, my sister’s about to loose her husband and her kids are probably going to prow up for the first part of their lives without their dad.” I said, rolling my eyes. He ran a hand through his blond hair, “Alright, I guess I deserve a stupid answer to a stupid question.” he said with a laugh, and then he glanced over at me, “You think Peter actually listened?” “Hopefully, he seemed downright guilty as he walked inside.” I replied smiling, what? Maybe it seems cold, but still!

“I would be too, if you ever have  kids I promise I’ll never go into the military. On the contrary, I’ll probably be an extra no danger job, like a florist.” he said with a smile, and I raised my eyebrows at him, “Whoa, whoa, we aren’t married-” “Yet.” “Fine, yet! Don’t start thinking about kids!” I exclaimed, probably blushing like mad. “You’d be a good-” “Nope! We are not having this conversation!” I said, putting my face in my hands. He laughed again, “I find it funny how you’ll send your sister's husband on a guilt trip straight to hell but get flustered at the mere mention of kids.”

Damn it he knew me well.

“Shut up Wayland.” “Nope Ms. Marie.” he replied grinning. “Why am I dating you?” I joked and he smirked, “Because of my loveable personality? My charm, my good looks?” he named and I shoved his arm, the one he wasn’t driving with, and rolled my eyes, “Hush, not everybody can be as talented as you.” “Aw shucks, you’re making me blush.” he said looking at the road and I laughed.

When we got back Jace kissed the top of my head, “I have to go talk to Jean, I’ll see you in less than an hour...hopefully.” he said before heading down the hallway. Logan walked in shortly after, “You’re back, where’s Jace?” “Jean.” I replied with a shrug, and he nodded. “So has Peter changed his mind?” “No.” “Did you give him the guilt trip?” “Mhm.” (*insert high five*) “ Good job.”

Back at my room I realized that it would soon become just my room. No Tink.

Gods that wasn’t a nice thought.

I sat down on my bed and looked at Tink’s bed on the other side of the room. “I can’t believe it.” I muttered, with a sigh.

I fell asleep soon after, and oddly had no dreams. At least there’s an upside to today.

In the morning I found Jace asleep in my bed and smiled, “Hey Jace.” he sleepily opened his eyes, “Mhm...I’m awake.” “Sure you are.” I replied with a laugh, and I looked at him. “I just realized, today is the last day that Peter’s going to be here.” “It is..”
