3. Wolf Pup

Most tasks for F-rank are boring ones. Delivery stuffs to others in Monstadt or Springvale. Looking for ores in nearby areas. Simple tasks suitable for inexperienced adventurers.

After three days of working at tasks, Childe pays another visit to Guild Office.

Katheryn informs him, "You are a good seed. Most customers praise your hard work. Master Cyrus has decided to upgrade your rank."

"Finally."

"There is a level E task going on. Helping hunters in Springvale in their next winter hunt. Are you going to join them?"

"Yes, please."

A green haired woman walks passed him. She walks into Guild Master office.

Childe tilts his head. Curiosity is shown in his face.

Katheryn asks, "That's Sucrose, an Alchemist. She works for Favonius Knight."

"She got animal ears...."

Katheryin hushes him.

She explains, "She's one of the Beastmen. Don't let her hear you. That's a direct insult here. Beastmen and ordinary humans live in perfect harmony here."

"Okay. I got it."

Beastmen are descendants of Adepti and humans. They kinda mixed breeds.

Adepti are also known as Yao. Creatures born after animals passed heavenly tribulations. Most of them have lived more than few hundred years old.

There are many Beastmen in their world, Teyvat. Most of them stay in Li Yue and surroundings. It's the first time Childe saw one in Monstadt.

The clerk comments, "You could meet more beastmen in Springvale. Diona, a local bartender in Cat's tail is also a beastwoman."

"I see. Tell Master Cyrus thank you for upgrading my rank."

"You're welcome."

Childe heads out to Springvale. He is familiar with the terrains around Monstadt by now.

Because a rich guy called Pallad often asked food deliveries during his hunts.

Springvale Chief is a beastman in his mid thirties. His cat shaped ears twitch whenever he speaks.

Childe looks away. He wants to pinch those cute ears.

The Chief has gathered five adventurers and his hunting team. Total twenty adult men and women will be set out.

He explains, "Some wolves have attacked our village during the wintertime. Five people have been wounded. We must strike back before more casulaties occurred."

He divides them in five teams.

Childe looks around him. His team consists of three men and a woman.

Reckless Pallad and unlucky Bennett belong to Adventure Guild like him. He has met them before.

Amber is an Outrider from Favonius Knight. It seems she's sent to fill up the numbers.

Pallad greets, "We meet again, delivery boy. You are sending something from Monstadt? I remember I ordered my package yesterday..."

"Nope. I'm here to join the hunt."

"Oh...well, stick close to me. I'll cover you up."

"Okay."

Childe smirks.

I saved him once. He didn't remember it? Too confident as usual.

Amber warns, "I'm the leader of this team. Don't act reckless, got it? Especially you, Pallad."
