Chapter 2

Natalie

Looking out the window, I sighed. The plane has just landed and I'm nervous yet exicted to be back home for the first time in 11 years.

After completing the check in process and getting my luggage, I head to the arrivals section of the airport, with the airport aid I hired, walking behind me with my luggage.

A bright smile appeared on my face when I saw the familiar face standing behind the mini barricade holding the 'Welcome home kiddo, I missed you' placard.

I hurried in my steps and more or less jumped on him. I felt him smile as he kept his arms wrapped around me tightly.

"Hey kiddo."

"I missed you." I cooed, once we pulled away.

"I missed you too." Will, my brother replies and kisses my head then hug me again briefly. He kept his arms around me and started to ask about my trip right away.

Will Bryce is my only brother. My only sibling really... and right from childhood, he's been the one person I've always been able to talk to about anything...and everything.

He just gets me.

The driver drove in the gates, and a subtle smile crossed my features as the familiar buildings came into view. I took in the sights of my family's beautiful home and nostalgia of the good old days set in.

"It's really good to have you home, Natalie." Will comments and I stared at him.

"Good to be back." I nodded at my brother, and we held hands briefly.

In few seconds, the driver stopped the car in front of the main house and the door was opened almost immediately, and I heard a rather loud "welcome home" chorus. I smiled brightly as I stared at my family - Mark, Antonia, Mia, Anna, Christopher and Racheal.

"Hi guys." I grinned ear to ear and was taken aback when Christopher and Rachel, my niece and nephew, rushed into my arms. I can't believe how grown up they are.

Then everyone else took their turns in hugging me.

My aunt, Tonia was the most emotional..she held on to me for what felt like half an hour and sobbed happily.

Funny thing, is that she still saw me about six months ago, when she came wedding shopping with my cousin, Mia to London. When she visited, she made sure that I took time off work and spent almost everyday together. She held on to me so tightly and kept kissing me all over.

My uncle on the other hand, is infamous for being able to reel in his emotions alot. He hugged me briefly and then kissed my forehead bringing a smile to my face.

Mine and Will's parents died when he was fifteen, and me, ten. We grew up under the care and guardianship of our father's twin brother, Mark and his wife, Antonia who I love to call Tonia.

Mark and Tonia are easily the nicest people on planet earth. They raised Will, Mia and I like siblings and have been there for us ever since the unfortunate incident happened.

While Uncle Mark is not the best at showing emotions, over three decades, I have learnt the true meaning of each of his blank expressions.

His wife, Tonia is an absolute sweetheart. Because of how much of a talkative I was in teenage years, we got along so well and as I grew even older, I had a good friend in her.

They have always supported and forgiven us even when we make the dandiest mistakes.

I personally can attest to that.
