Sam

I entered my house after entering the passcode and was walking up the stairs when I heard a loud noise coming from my kitchen.

I went in the direction of the noise and found him in my kitchen. As he held my eyes, he froze and gave me a meek smile, and I frowned deeply. "What are you doing here?"

"Noodles?" He offers, pushing the plate closer to the table in front of me.

I hissed and made my way to the living room. I turned on the lights and went to the bar.

I could hear him moving noisily behind me. "You are yet to respond to my question."

"Thelma and I fought." I looked at him in disbelief as he admitted.

"How come you're such a child?"

"I'm 25 years old, bro." At this point, his phone fell and I rolled my eyes. "I'm not a kid." He said as he got up.

"Will you then act your age?" I grabbed a cup from the bar shelf.

"It wasn't my fault."

"Well, it's not mine, either, but you always seem to irritate me whenever you two argue." I poured myself a drink.

"Woah...why are you so irate?" He took a seat beside me and set the plate on the bar.

"Nothing."

"It isn't nothing. I know you well enough to know that something else is going on." He said, and her voice echoed in my head.

"And I know you understand well enough to know something else is wrong. Please talk to me, babe." She smiled warmly at me and I smiled back, holding on to her hand.

"Sam, are you smiling?"

"No." I instantly replied.

What's wrong with me? Why am I thinking of that?

"I'm pretty sure that was a smile." He teased and I ignored him and poured myself a drink.

"Where were you?" He asks.

"Work."

"False. I talked to Maria today and she told me that she was home because you decided to take the weekend off for a change."

"So?"

"So...who exactly is she?"

"Who?"

"The lady you were with."

"What makes you think that I was with a lady?"

"First, you're antsy, and second,  you smell....like a  lady's perfume." I drank my wine in one gulp.

"Really, bro, who were you with?"

"Natalie," I replied, knowing he wouldn't stop asking.

His eyes brightened. "Really? I knew you too were going to get back together soon. Mum is gonna be so..."

"Calm down. We are not..together."

"But you just said.."

"That I was with her? Yes. But we weren't alone."

"What? Why not?"

"What do you mean, why not?"

"Who else were you with?"

"Her boyfriend and Amanda."

"Amanda has a boyfriend?"

"No."
