Sam

"God damn it." I cursed under my breath as I entered the car.

"Everything ok, Sam?"

"Just take me home."

"Samuel..."

"Take me home, Bob." I raised my voice, and we held gaze through the rear mirror. "I'm sorry." I added.

"Tough day, huh?"

"The worst." I muttered under my breath.

"Then we should probably get you a drink."

"No, I ..." I stopped amidst my sentence. Honestly, I could use some peace and drink right now but Jack is at home and knowing him, I won't get much of the latter."

"Actually yes. To Crimson's"

"Yes, boss." He salutes and I sigh.

-------------

"Cheers."

"Cheers." Bob says, and we clinked our glasses together and then he laughs.

"What?"

"Oh you know...it's been a while since we had a drink like this."

"So true."

"Remember when you were a rookie CEO and we had to get drinks in you before the start of every week?"

"I do." I paused, smiling then continued, "I epsecially remember how Maria would give us a earful for it too." My smile disappears.

"I take it...you didn't take the news well."

"You knew?"

"Ofcourse. You know Maria...She was very dramatic and asked me to be here for another decade atleast so you don't feel alone."

"She did?"

"That woman is a force. Gonna be rough without her."

"It would and I was such an asshole to her and Natalie too."

"Natalie?"

"Yes." I nod, and then told him everything.

"Wow man. You really... "

"I know." I sigh and gulped my wine.

"Woah. Slow down." He collected the bottle. "Don't get drunk now. It's cowardly."

"What do you suggest I do instead? I can't face either of them."

"I get it. You were an asshole."

"That's not helping, Bob." I said, and finished the wine.

"My point is... stop feeling sorry for yourself and make amends."

"So I should go to Maria right now?"

"Err..I think an apology is too little... it's Maria we are talking about."

"Right."

"A grand gesture will cut it for sure. One you will come up with after you really sober up."

"And in the main time?"

"Apology to the other person you were an asshole to."

"I..."

"If you let it go now, it will be all awkward and mushy..you're sure you're prepared for awakrd and mushy?"

No. I am not.

"To Natalie's." I said, and stood. He followed suit, smiling. Then, he walked to the exit and I followed him.
