Chapter 7

S

am

I sighed in relief as Bob stopped the car by the main house entrance.

"Thank you, Bob. I will see you tomorrow.

"You got it, boss." He playfully used his hand to salute the rear mirror, and I chuckled before getting out of the car.

I was tired and needed a drink after the day I had just had.

A French investor who I had been trying to get to invest in my proposed project for the past two years paid me a surprise visit.

I was especially thrilled when he said he'd given my proposal a rethink and he's now considering investing. It was a good but tiring day, having to thoroughly analyse the pros and cons of the project.

Honestly, this year is looking really good so far.

The merger will happen soon, the tech fair is coming, and now I'm getting investors for the prototypes I've been working on personally for the last three years.

It seriously doesn't get any better than this.

If only I was a machine, I'd gladly work all day and night long.

But I'm not.

So, I'll be taking a little break and continue working around the clock tomorrow.

After punching in the codes into the remote like device attached to the wall beside the door, the door opened and I entered, instantly headed for my mini bar, but I soon stopped in my tracks when I noticed movements and a shadow in the right wing of the room.

I turned in my steps and switched the lights on and immediately wished I hadn't, as I saw my only brother making out with a half naked girl on the couch.

"The hell?" The girl embarrassingly picks her clothes up once the lights are on and instantly throws her shirt over her head. "Hey,

bro. What a surprise. " He mutters, scratching the back of his head. He always does that when he's embarrassed.

"What have I told you about bringing your sloppy seconds to my house?" Looking towards the lady, I stopped. "No offence."

"None taken." She replies, smirking flirtatiously.

Isaac, noticing my irritation, ushers her out of the room. I just sighed and sat down on the couch. Definitely not the one they were making out on.

In a few minutes, Isaac was back and sitting in front of me. "Hey,

bro."

"You know, for a guy who broke up with his long-time girlfriend only a few days ago, you sure have a lot of female friends helping you with your 'heart', don't you think?" I muttered irritatedly.

I'm sorry bro. Sandra just came to cheer me up, but we just got caught up in the moment. "

"Yea, Who doesn't want to be cheered up that way? " I muttered sarcastically. "I don't care what you do, man. Just not in my house, ok? " I added

"Got it. Sorry. "I didn't expect you to come to this house tonight; I assumed you'd stay at the other house for the time being." He shrugs.

"Well..I'm guessing I needn't remind you that I own both these places, so I can choose wherever I want to say."

"Right." He folds his lips, obviously to hide a smile.

"What are you doing here anyway?" Aren't you supposed to be in Texas for that boy lingerie you're shooting for? "

"Oh c'mon, brother, it's not lingerie, it's boys' shorts." How many times do I have to tell you that? "

"Yea yea." boy's shorts that look and feel like ladies' panties. " He rolls his eyes at me. "When will you grow up anyway?" You've got to stop playing around and start acting responsible and run the business with me.

"I told you, bro. It's not my cup of tea. I love what I do and you cannot blame me for that. "

"Yea yea." Wait till I stop your lavish expenses. "

"You make this threat every other week." I think it's time for some new material. " He smirked, and I shook my head in surrender and moved to the bar to pour myself a drink.

"Isn't it too late for a drink?" He says, and joins me at the bar.

"Not for me."

"Clearly." He mocks.

I poured myself a drink, paying no attention to my little brother's remarks, and drank it all in a shot, then began pouring another.

"Pour me one too." He said, and we both laughed briefly, as I poured us the drinks. After handing him his glass, we clicked our glasses together. This time, I took a small sip and dropped the glass.

"So... I heard some exciting news."

"What news?"

"That Natalie is back."

"How did you... Maria?" I completed it on my own. "Of course

." He shrugs. "So... how's working the ex?"

"None of your business." When are you leaving for Texas? "

"Tomorrow..and before you say anything, I'll be back in time for the meeting." He replies, and I nod.

"Maria told me she has become way more beautiful now." He continues, and I roll my eyes at him.

"Didn't notice."

"Oh really? You are telling me that you haven't noticed that your ex has become hot now? "

"What are you, 12?" He did not respond. Instead, he proceeded to pour himself another drink.

"I'm going to change my passcode." I mumbled to myself and finished my drink at once.

"Yes." "He says with a straight face as he faces me." "I know you will, and you know that you'll give me the new code anyway." He smirked as he poured me a drink.

I hate that he's right.
