"How you feeling?" Nathaniel asked, feeling Alexius forehead and neck for tempature.

"Horrible." She groaned, throwing the cover off of her.

"Can you please turn the fan on level 2 it's so hot." She complained making him turn the fan up.

"Feel bad for you but, also happy I ain't you." Nathaniel joked, making Alex smile.

"Shut up big idiot." She joked

Alex wasn't feeling good today along with the rest of her family and to top things off she'd just gotten her hair done and her period was on.

Everyone knew that she was an irritated bastard when her hair had just gotten done. It would irritate the heck out of her especially if her period came on right after.

"Thank you Nathaniel." She smiled, watching as he cleaned her room.

"Fah what?" He asked, pushing her folded clothes down in her pink basket.

"For being here for me, I really appreciate you." She said

"It's whatever, you know I gotchu Lil baby." He says,

"Just don't let yo' shit get like this again." He says, referring to her messy room, making the both of them laugh.

"How long are you staying?" She asks

"How long I'm staying where?" He asked, hanging up her coats and jackets. "Here with me?" She asked

He looked down at his watch before, looking back up at her. "I gotta go in like an hour but, Imma check on you after, I got some business to handle." He says

"And what's that?" She asked, making him look at her.

"Business." He says strictly "I know you're selling drugs Nathaniel." She says, He stopped all his movements and locked his attention on her.

"It bother you?" He asked, She shrugged and shook her head. "So why you so worried?" He asked, now upset with her.

"Because Nathaniel-The cycle is repeating itself and it's only getting worse." She says "What's that supposed to mean?" He asked, organizing her shoes now.

"It means black men run to the streets instead of putting their knowledge to good use." She says

"You judging me now lil baby?" He asked, stopping exactly what he was doing and faced her again.

"No I'm not I'm just saying-Saying what exactly?" He cuts her off.

She didn't say anything, "Exactly you ain't got shit to say lil mama, You don't know shit either-I get that you worried and stuff but, what I'm doing ain't got shit to do with you." He says

"You don't know my story, You don't know why I do the shit I do, you don't know me." He says

"You right, I don't but I do know what I've seen and experienced." She says "And that is?" He asked

"Men selling drugs out in the open like kids aren't walking around and me? I've seen it for the first time ever in my life and it was so sad and traumatizing because, I didn't even think that selling drugs was real I thought that only played out in movies because I've never seen it happen before, I never believed Violence was real nor did I believe the stories on how they described the hood to be, It all seemed fake to me because for one If didn't see it myself then I didn't believe it so when I seen that man giving the other one some coke it traumatized me, it hurt! Because that's so stupid." She says

"Damn for real?" He asked, She nodded

"Okay well, your trauma is not my fault because I'm not the one who did it and you're right, shit like that shouldn't be exposed to the people that should be done on the low." Nathaniel says

"You remember how they looked?" He asks

"He was very skinny, I wouldn't say darkskin but, very dark brown, he had dreads with light brown tips, blue tracksuit with yellow stripes on the sides, and a lit blue backpack that he kept the drugs in, I don't remember how the buyer looked." I say, He nodded.

"Are you mad at me?" I asked, I don't want me and Nathaniel to be on bad terms because of me. I ask a lot of questions when I don't meant to.

He shook his head no as he grabbed his things.

"Nah I ain't mad at you lil mama, You got yo' reasons but, I also have mine so don't pick me out to be one of them." He says pointing to no where in particular.

"Don't go judging me because of what someone else has done, I'm not them ma-I'm me." He says pointing to himself.

"I know and I'm sorry Nathaniel." She says, playing with her necklaces. Nathaniel sighed before walking over and kissing her forehead and her cheek then walking towards the room door.

"Imma see you later lil baby but, if not then Imma most definitely talk to you tomorrow ." He says, She nodded "Okay, be careful!" She yelled after him.

After the altercation with her dad she hasn't been feeling to well. Just soar throat, fever and upset stomach. Nathaniel has been coming over her house since then especially since her mom finally allowed him in. He'd met her siblings and mother along with Delirious, Melly and France. Melly and France met them properly while delirious just made it his decision to meet them even though Alexius didn't want him too.

9:45 pm

"Alexius my momma said come take some of this Robitussin." Lee says, before leaving the room completely.

Alexius groaned pulling the cover over her body and, standing to her feet from her spot in her bed. She made her way to her moms room.

"Huh, Take this and wash the top when done." Her mom says, giving her the top half way full of robitussin, She took it and scrunched her face up as she looked at the top.

"Eww I don't want too." Alexius says, "That's the only way you gone get better." Ciara says, Alexius sighed and quickly threw the top back and swallowing the medicine making her run to the bathroom and fill the top with water, throwing that back too.

"Ewww." She whined, washing the top out before turning the faucet off completely and taking the top to her mother.

"So which one of them boys yours?" Ciara asked, Alexius began to laugh at the question. Her mom meant no harm by the question, they just talked like that.

"None of them." I say "They're Just my friends ma." Alexius smiles.

"So Nathaniel ain't yo' man?" She asked

"No! Nathaniel is my best friend." I say, She hummed in disbelief making me smack my lips.

"Okay so there may be one that I like but, I won't say much especially since we aren't talking or nothing." I say

"Whatchu mean?" Jarvis asked "We aren't talking, Like we don't communicate at all." I say, She nods

"That might be yo' man girl." Ciara says, with a smile.

"Please, He doesn't want me." I deny "What make you say that?" Lee asked

"Who wants me? Do you not see-" Alexius waves at herself, pointing out her flaws.

"that's just you putting that in your own head, Insecurities that shouldn't even exist because ain't nothing wrong with you." Ciara says

"I guess." Alex says
