"You guys sure you don't need any help?", y/n called from her office, as she heard a loud bang outside. She knew it was Ned, Mj and Peter, who were currently transporting stuff they wanted to put in the nursery, through the whole pent house. As soon as y/n asked the question she heard the three call "NO", in union. Y/n knew she wasn't supposed to look, but the fact that they would be doing the nursery filled her with excitement and the fact that they were so loud made her curious. The chaos troup, that's what she had called them since Highschool, was really living up to its name.
Still, y/n knew she would ruin the surprise, if she looked, so she didn't. Instead she focused on getting as much work don as possible, so she can focus on herself and the baby the next few months. Of course the launch would be happening next weekend and she would get occasional updates from Jenny after that, but she wouldn't have to work constantly. She looked at all the current updates. Everything seemed to be ready for the launch. Good. She was smiling as she looked through the designs some of her employees made. Many of them had great talent and potential she included seven of their designs in this launch. The others she put aside, because she felt like they had more of a spring/summer feeling rather than the fall/winter she was looking for. She'd take them out again in about half a year and see if they could go in that collection. She sent her reviews back to headquarters and closed her laptop.
After checking everything she stood up. She had to stretch her legs, so she decided to take a walk. She went to the door, avoiding to look even in the direction of the nursery, put on her shoes and coat and took a short walk trough Central Park. She liked the cold wind on this sunny day. The leaves were already turning yellow and she admired the beauty the park had this time of year. When she got back and sat on the couch (Peter and their friends had everything they needed in the nursery already and were working with the door closed now.), she realized how exhausted she was. Was she that long gone? she looked at the clock. It wasn't more than an hour. She took a few deep breaths and calmed her heartbeat back down. She fell asleep a few minutes just enough for a power nap.
Something hit her. Not literarily. She remembered that she should maybe update the public on all the things that would be happening in the company the next few months. And it should be before the launch. So she logged into her Spiders-dame account on instagram. The first thing she did was go through her posts. It was a habit of hers. She liked to be reminded of memories concerning the company. It showed her where she started and how far she came. Before she posted something new she looked at some comments and answered them as best as she could.
Then she made a photo and wrote a text under it. This text would be longer than normal, but she also had a lot to say. She tried to stay as vague as possible, like always, so that her identity would fall in jeopardy.
Just then Peter stuck his head though the door. "Hey, how are you?", he asked. She looked at him tired, but her eyes light up as soon as she saw him. "Tired, but very curious. Are you finished", she asked with an excited expression. He laughed. "Yes, and that's why you have to put this on", he handed her a blindfold. "Really? A Blindfold?", she sounded amused. He shrugged "It's part of the surprise" "Fine", she put the blindfold on reluctantly and trusted Peter as he guided her to the room. He told her to wait and she heard the sound of a door opening.
When she stood in what she believed to be the nursery Peter told her to take the blindfold off. She immediately gasped. "Wow", she said quietly. Y/n had tears in her eyes. Everything was becoming real now. The nursery was beautifully decorated. It was a similar style to the rest of the penthouse. Since they didn't know the gender of the baby, they had decided on a more neutral color scheme. The room wasn't the biggest in the house, in fact it was the smallest, but it was the closest to their bedroom. It also wasn't meant to be to play in, so it didn't need that extra space. "Do you like it?",she heard Mj say behind her. So she turned around to see the trio in the doorframe. "It's Perfect", she ran over and hugged them all.
"So I actually made you guys something too", she said. They looked at her surprise. "Hold on a second", she walked out of the room. She came back with four hoodies. And handed everybody one each one was made in the persons favorite color. "Turn them around" They did. There was an inscription on them Mjs said favorite aunt, Neds favorite uncle, Peters favorite dad and y/n made herself one with favorite Mum on it. They hugged her again. "How is this thing so soft?", Ned asked rubbing the fabric against his cheek. "I don't know", y/n laughed. "I don't think we could do it without you guys thank you for your support", she was speaking for her and Peter now. He nodded and put his arm around her. "She's right your support means everything to us I don't think we would have survived high school without you" "Or your missions", Ned added. "True, he saved your ass more than once in that chair", y/n looked at Peter. "Hey", he protested. "Ned thank you for keeping my boyfriend, fiancee and husband alive", she turned to him. "And thank all of you for keeping me alive"
They all hugged again. And y/n hoped that time would stand still forever.
After their Friends left y/n turned to Peter. "I meant it you know", she said. "I believe you", he replied. "I don't think that I could ever thank you enough for helping me through such hard times like that. I'm in your debt for the rest of my life" He shook his head. "Nope I think were even.", she looked at him. "What?" "Don't think just because I wasn't conscious all those times you nursed me back to health I don't remember what you did. I almost died more than three times being Spiderman before the Avengers. And you are the one that saved me" She smiled at him. "Fine we're even", she finally agreed.
