The Avengers never cared! (Peter Parker X Reader)

Chapter 6 untold

When Peter came into work happier than the whole team had ever seen him, they were curious to say the least. He was early for the morning meeting, which was odd, he'd usually slip in the last second before the meeting. He wore a smile through the whole day. Even Morgan thought it was weird. Not that he wasn't usually in a good mood, but this was different. If somebody asked him why he was in a good mood he would simply shrug them off. This went on for a whole week. Now the whole team was starting to wonder what happened. According to Wanda and Bruce he had been acting suspicious the last Sunday but in a different way. Everyone was now looking for as many clues as they could, but Peter started to catch on, on the first day. He found it funny how they desperately were trying to get information out of him. Every evening him and y/n would joke about how the team was making a fool of itself.

It all came to an abrupt stop though. 

It was Sunday again. It had been a week since the couple found out, they were having a baby and  there was an ultrasound scheduled and a dinner planned. Peter being so excited that he couldn't think of anything else left his phone at home. So naturally when Tony called,because he wanted Peter to come on a mission, he didn't answer.

"Why won't he pick up?", Tony said worriedly.

"I'm sure it's nothing", Clint said. "Maybe he just forgot his phone."

Nat nodded in agreement with his statement. 

"No, something must have happened. I'm calling May he should be at home it's nine pm."

"Tony we gotta go", Steve said. "It's his free-day anyway"

"He's worried", Bruce said "he isn't gonna stop until he knows Peter's safe"

Tony called aunt May. "Yes?", she answered. "Hey it's Tony. Is Peter home?" "What do you mean?" "like is he in his room or do you know where he is?", he heard a chuckle from the other side. "no why would he be here?", there was a pause. "Wait, he didn't tell you?", she asked. "tell me what?", the team who had been discussing the mission, became silent by Tonys words wondering what was going on. "Tony, Peter moved out four years ago", May said slowly. 

"I'll call you back", Tony said and hung up. He put down his phone and looked at the team, with a disappointed expression. They all looked confused back at him. 

"What is it?", Wanda asked. 

"Please tell me none of you knew Peter has his own place since he is 18", he looked around at the shocked faces of his teammates.

The next morning the whole team was sitting at the table eating their breakfast, all except Tony. He was going back and forth in the kitchen waiting for Peter to get to his shift. 

"Why are we on the runway?",Clint asked annoyed.

"What if something did happened?", Tony asked once again.

"just sit down and eat your breakfast", Pepper said. Morgan nodded in agreement. "Your making me nervous", she added. That made Tony sit down. Even if he didn't touch his food at all. 

The door opened and Peter entered. "Oh thank god", Bruce mumbled "I couldn't take the sight of Tony anymore" The rest of the team just looked at Peter in silence. They still couldn't believe how he could hide such a significant part of his life from them and especially Tony. "What?" Peter asked. 

"Why didn't you answer your phone yesterday?", Tony started. Hoping Peter would mention that he moved out by himself.

"I was out and left my phone at home...", Peter began "Why were you calling?" 

"We had a mission", Steve said

"And I had a free day", Peter added.

"What if we really needed you?", Tony asked

"If you really needed me it would be such a big battle that it would be on the news.", Peter rolled his eyes "I've got one free day, let me have it!" He made a cup of coffee and sat down at the table. He noticed many of them were still staring. "Seriously guys what's going on?" 

"Were you ever going to tell me you have your own apartment?", Tony asked after the table fell quiet for a minute.

"Was i obligated to?"

"It would be helpful to know that you don't live in the same place anymore for FOUR years", Tony looked at him angrily.

"I show up for work. Don't I? As long as that's the case you don't need to know anything else. Besides if I tell you you'll install a 'baby monitor program' like in my suit. I'm not a kid anymore. I'm 22. I'm an adult. SO START TREATING ME LIKE ONE", with those words he stood up and went to his lab, leaving everyone shocked.
