"Oh my! Lots of people here today!" Mr Passer exclaimed as they walked into the dining hall.

Orchid looked around to see it was only half full, but nodded anyways.

They walked over to the tables on the side to get some food.

To say the food she saw from a distance in the afternoon was amazing was an understatement.

Up-close she could see the variety the Mairy-Unique had in food.

There were plates filled with various salads, a whole platter of baked potatoes, about sixteen types of soups, macaroni and cheese, freshly baked pizzas and so much more.

Piling up her plate with macaroni and cheese with some baked potato on the side, she followed Mr Passer to a table for three, one seat already taken by a girl who looked a little bit older than Orchid.

"Everbloom! Lovely to see you again, haven't seen you around that much since you took to studying in your room at the start of term! Have the holidays started?" Mr Passer sat down in a seat and Orchid awkwardly followed suit.

"Um yes, I am back for about three weeks, anything... new happened?" The girl stared at Orchid, probably feeling as awkward as Orchid was.

"Nothing much, oh yes! Everbloom, this is Orchid, Orchid this is Everbloom Spring, a trainee at Davianna Magic College which you will be joining soon!" Mr Passer said.

The two stared at eachother before both forcing a nervous grin.

Everbloom was a character to behold, with her hair pulled over and straightened to one side, revealing a dragon earring on her other ear, her ear pointy and elf-like.

She was wearing a green dress with brown cloth attachments, something you would imagine a dystopian elf or fairy to wear.

"So, um, Orchid, what class are you in?" Everbloom asked, probably in an attempt to start a conversation.

"Class?" Orchid said questionably, not knowing what she meant by that.

"Like I mean, I am an Earth Elf, what about you?" Everbloom replied, sipping a spoonful of sweet-corn soup.

At that Orchid could tell she was meant to say Light-Walker, but at what Mr Passer said about them she was unsure what to reply.

She looked at Mr Passer with a panicked expression on her face.

"Oh um, yeah, Orchid she, well um, Everbloom, uhh-" Mr Passer stuttered.

Everbloom looked at the two with a strange expression on her face.

"Look, Everbloom, you see, Orchid, she is... she is a Light-Walker, please don't tell anyone else." Mr Passer said with a sigh.

Everbloom looked confused for a minute as if they were trying to prank her but then she noticed the star clip in Orchid's hair.

"Demaver?" Everbloom said with a smirk, "Try harder next time Mr Passer, that is so obvious."

"I suppose I have to find a better one." Mr Passer groaned.

"But anyways, a Light-Walker? Pretty cool." Everbloom said, trying to act as if it wasn't interesting her, even though Mr Passer and Orchid could tell it did.

"But anyways, now that I have done the mature act of introducing you two to eachother, now while I am away during the day, you both at least won't have Mairy as your only friend." Mr Passer snickered, before fiddling with his watch for about the ten millionth time that day.

"Wow, I am so impressed." Everbloom clapped sarcastically, "But anyways, Orchid, I am assuming you are from the Human Lands, suppose tomorrow I can give you a tour of Etarnaya, or at least around Topaz Cliffs? I hear that is where the Mairy-Unique is going to be stopping tomorrow." Everbloom asked, fiddling with her spoon.

"Sure I guess, I mean, I have no plans?" Orchid replied tentatively, eating the last of her potatoes.

"Great, so um, just make your way to room 22 at around 8:30-ish tomorrow morning, we can have a quick breakfast and head off." Everbloom put her plate in a pile filled with other dirty dishes.

"Sure, I am in room 13 by the way." Orchid put her plate in the pile too.

"See! I told you that you guys would be friends!" Mr Passer popped in between the two.

"You never really said that though you know.." Everbloom muttered, rolling her emerald green eyes.

"You know what I mean." Mr Passer huffed as they walked out of the dining hall towards their rooms.

"But anyways girls, I better get some sleep, I unfortunately have the pleasure of going to work early in the morning tomorrow and I will only be back in the evening, try not to stay up too late, alright? Goodnight! And Happy Birthday Orchid, I'll see if I can find a little something for you tomorrow!" Mr Passer walked into room 24 and shut the door.

Orchid suddenly remembered it was her birthday that day and mentally sighed.

Well wasn't this an unusual day.

"Oh? It's your birthday? Happy Birthday I guess, well, I suppose I will see you tomorrow Orchid, night." Everbloom said as she went in her room.

Orchid walked over to room 13 and went inside.

She closed the door and sat down on the couch and groaned.

She appreciated the day she had, there was no denying that, but it just felt so exhausting to think about everything that happened to her today, leaving the orphanage, travelling into another realm, finding out she is a Light-Walker, nearly getting killed by the Shadow and on top of that, her birthday!

"Long day huh?" She heard Mairy say.

"Yes." Orchid groaned.

"Well you better get some sleep then, don't you think?" Mairy said.

"I suppose I should." Orchid said as she changed into her pyjamas.

"Goodnight Orchid." Mairy said and automatically switched off the light in room 13.

"Night Mairy." Orchid said as she fell into a well deserved, blissful sleep.
