"Evtenor Passer, we have gathered here today because?" A stern looking woman with extremely sharp glasses glared down at Orchid and Mr Passer.
After leaving the airport and asking about a ton of questions, Orchid had now arrived here, at the Court of Etarnayans, the 'appointment' delayed slightly by Mr Passer.
-10 Minutes Earlier-
"Oh yes Orchid, just a quick little present, sorry that it isn't wrapped, I never got the chance to doing it." Mr Passer reached into his coat and pulled out a small clip, in the shape of star.
"Um, thanks!" Orchid looked at it blankly.
"It's a demaver, I suggest you wear it, might not shock the Court as much." Mr Passer whispered.
Orchid put the clip in her hair, a jolt going through her as she put it on.
"What will shock them anyways?" Orchid asked nervously as they walked through the halls.
"Oh um, nothing much." Mr Passer stammered.
"Is the court nice?" Orchid asked, suddenly realising how babyish it sounded.
"Don't worry, me and the Court are all good chaps." Mr Passer smiled as they walked in the court.
-Present Moment-
Now, Orchid wasn't so sure about that.
"Mistress Longloaf, good day to you too, I had come here today as I need help finding this lovely young lady with me here a home." Mr Passer smiled happily.
Orchid gulped, she could tell things weren't going to go well.
"What do you mean by home? Last time you brought over someone from the Human Lands it turned out 'home' specifically meant a job at the Dragon Riding Academy because of their 'amazing skill of setting up hurdles'." Mistress Longloaf peered down at them, Orchid then realising that her eyes were vivid black.
"Well I mean, by home I mean home, preferably a place of education also?" Mr Passer chuckled nervously.
"Always a catch." Mistress Longloaf sighed and looked down at Orchid, "Does she even possess any magical talent Evtenor, she looks dreadfully ordinary, hang on, is that a demaver?"
"Always good at spotting them demavers, aren't you Mistress Longloaf?" Mr Passer looked down at his shoes.
"Of course, with people like you around who bring over people from the Human Lands, you have got to learn how to, can't authorise the permission of a monster entering Etarnaya, what is this demaver hiding this time?" Mistress Longloaf said, looking unimpressed with Mr Passer.
"Orchid, um, you may remove the clip now I suppose." Mr Passer nervously grinned.
Orchid reached into her hair and slowly removed the demaver, met again with a quick jolt.
"My word! It can't be!" Mistress Longloaf's eyes suddenly turned a bright purple.
"Well, it is." Mr Passer said.
"What is? What does a demaver do?" Orchid asked, realising how echoey the courtroom was.
"Well, Orchid, you see, a demaver removes all traces of physical signs of magic while you are wearing it. In your case, that happens to be your streaks." Mr Passer replied.
"Evtenor this is absurd, the Light Walkers were extinct ever since... the curse." Mistress Longloaf shuddered, whispering the last part.
"This is why it is extremely important to protect Orchid and teach her about her background! Hopefully then we can bring back the Light Walkers again!" Mr Passer exclaimed, his eyes sparkling.
Mistress Longloaf sighed and swept a hand through her silvery hair.
"We can get her a room at the Mairy-Unique and when term starts again we can get her into Davianna I suppose." Mistress Longloaf shuffled through some paperwork on her desk.
"Yes! This is amazing! Thank you so much Mistress Longloaf! I shall take care of the rest." Mr Passer said excitedly.
"Take care Evtenor, pleasure to meet you Orchid. I have sent Resevar all the details." Mistress Longloaf said as they walked out.
"That went well!" Mr Passer grabbed Orchid's suitcase which was waiting outside and passed it over to her.
"Um, sure?" Orchid replied, lugging her suitcase out of the building where the courtroom was found in.
"I think the Mairy-Unique can wait a bit, let me show you around Etarnaya first." Mr Passer winked at Orchid.
Despite the fact that Orchid still had no idea what was going on, she was quite eager to see this place that was described as the Realm of Magic.
Mr Passer led her out into the sunshine, the clouds even more magnificent here then back home, no wonder Via had spoken so highly of the clouds here, they were large and puffy and pure white, like a wonderland.
"Ah, you have noticed the clouds I see, the home of the Anviaels is something to wonder at. You might see it in closer detail once we board the Mairy-Unique." Mr Passer led Orchid over the mossy stone street, "Now if I want to show you around we must certainly catch a Hedge for that."
