"A what?" Orchid blurted out.
"Oh yes, they don't have Hedges in the Human Lands, how unfortunate." Mr Passer fiddled with his watch yet again.
"No, we have hedges, but I am just confused about how a hedge can be used as a mode of transport." Orchid said, confused.
"Ah! Now I see where you are confused. I am talking about a 'Hedge' not a 'hedge', completely different. A hedge is a large decorative bush usually used to conceal something from view. A Hedge on the other hand could be described as one of the best modes of transport, but they stand corrected by the Gold-Yatches, ah look! Here comes a Hedge now!" Mr Passer pointed at a blurry brown figure in the distance.
"Is that a... hedgehog?" Orchid squinted.
"A slightly big hedgehog to be precise." Mr Passer said as the Hedge came to a halt in a series of squeaks.
That was an understatement, it was like a giant.
"Come on, we only have some time before we get you on the Mairy-Unique." Mr Passer climbed up the Hedge and sat a a small seating area perched atop the spikes.
Using the spikes as a ladder, Orchid climbed up and sat down in a red armchair.
Mr Passer tapped the Hedge lightly on the head, and with a series of squeaks they were off.
The Hedge was a strange but still yet an enjoyable way to travel, it travelled fast with occasional bumps in between, a strange sensation for Orchid.
"Where are we going?" Orchid asked, peering at a tree with bright purple lights in the place of leaves.
"Well, I was thinking maybe we could go to the Enchanted Gardens? Lovely for sightseeing, plus the Mairy-Unique stops by near there." Mr Passer taps the Hedge again and it comes to an abrupt stop.
Orchid climbs off the hedge, looking around.
A forest of plants surround them, all with their own unique feature.
There were mushrooms which blasted out red dust every few seconds, there were leaves which had tiny flowers running along the stems and many more unusual things that Orchid had never seen before.
"Ah, I love coming here. Oh! I should probably introduce you to Fiona." Mr Passer went down a path, covered with vibrant green leaves.
He stopped at a giant pink flower, it's rose coloured petals closed in.
"Hey Fiona! I want to introduce you to someone." Mr Passer says.
Orchid looks around, not seeing anyone.
"But there is no-one here- Oh!" Orchid gasped.
The flower's petals slowly open up, revealing a small face on the bud.
"Mr Passer! Lovely to see you again! Who is this young lady here? Now, I might be going crazy, but is she a Light Walker?" Fiona says, her voice soft and pure.
"This is Orchid Sunriser, and yes, she is a Light Walker." Mr Passer grins.
"Why, lovely to meet you Orchid!" Fiona smiles.
"Nice to meet you too Fiona." Orchid says, still in shock from the talking flower.
"Oh my! We have to go, the Mairy-Unique will be here soon, we'll catch up with you later Fiona!" Mr Passer leads Orchid out of the garden.
"Well I'm not going anywhere!" Fiona laughs.
"Fiona seems nice." Orchid says as they walk out of the garden.
"Of course! Fiona is one of the nicest people I know!" Mr Passer replies as they walk over to a small train station sort of area.
"So, what is the Mairy-Unique?" Orchid asks as they take a seat down at a small bench.
"Well, think of one of those big, ginormous, luxurious cruise ships. Except it can fly. That's the Mairy-Unique for you. And, it will be your new home! Lovely place. I should know because I live there too." Mr Passer squints into the sky, "And now you can see for yourself!"
Orchid looks into the sky and gasps.
A monster of a ship glides down onto a platform near to where they were sitting, pure white with gold adornments, it was an accurate description of luxury with no description required.
A stair-case slides out of the side of the ship and lands on the ground.
Orchid stares at it, speechless.
"Hello there! And welcome to the one, the only, Mairy-Unique!" A cheery voice pops out of no-where, startling Orchid, who was still in awe with the beauty of the Mairy-Unique.
"Ah! Resevar! I believe you got the message from Mistress Longloaf?" Mr Passer steps on the stair case and shakes hands with a cheery looking man in a professional uniform.
"Of course Evtenor! And I presume you must be Miss Sunriser, lovely to meet you! I presume you are staying here?" The man says.
"You can call me Orchid, nice to meet you too." Orchid replies tentatively.
"Oh! The Mairy-Unique should be taking off anytime soon! Better get on!" The man leaps on the ship and disappears.
Orchid and Mr Passer climb up the staircase just as the door opening to the outside world closes.
"Who was that?" Orchid whispers to Mr Passer as they walk in a long, luxurious carpeted hallway.
"That was Resevar, the Captain of the Mairy-Unique, though the Mairy-Unique can control itself well enough." Mr Passer explains, "How about I show you around the Mairy-Unique and then you can get settled in?"
