"Wait. Hold up. Look I'm sorry, but I can not take anything seriously right now alright. Like honestly I just want to go home and sleep, I mean, I just got thrown into a cliff, so can you make this easier for the both of us right now?" Orchid sighed, rubbing her eyes, not sure whether it was out of tiredness or just being irritated, or maybe both.
The reflection's face twisted in confusion.
"Weren't you just internally panicking or something just a few seconds ago?"
"I still am, I just don't think I can feel that threatened though by a knock-off version of me, so seeing you raised my hopes of getting out of here alive a little." Each word that Orchid said lightly echoed in the misty air surrounding her and the mirror.
"Well your no fun honestly, I should just go and bother another you in another reality, but I have not arrived in this world to just leave again, so hear me out for a second alright." While the reflection might have originally posed this as a question, it ended up sounding a lot like a statement, so Orchid could assume she didn't have any choice in the following matter.
"I am here to help you defeat the Shadow." The Orchid that stood in the mirror stated confidently, crossing their arms with a proud look on their face.
While Orchid did not want to be involved in any sketchy business at the moment, this piqued her interest a little.
"Helping me defeat the Shadow you say? Why would I believe you? I mean, how do I know that this whole conversation isn't just a figment of my imagination!" Orchid glared down her reflection.
"But you want to believe me don't you? I can sense a part of you that wants to eagerly listen to what I have to say. You know if you defeat the Shadow, you are free to find your family. That is what you want, right?" Those words stabbed Orchid, as if it were a knife, dripping in the deadliest of poison, but with a sweet aftertaste, the aftertaste of victory.
"Fine, I'll listen to what you have to say, but you need to give me my powers back and send me back to where I was. Do we have a deal?"
The reflection smirked before it's usual cold stare returned.
"Deal." The Orchid in the mirror replied, nodding their head slightly in agreement.
"Well then, what can you do to help me defeat the shadow?" Orchid relaxed her stance, but still felt shivers run down her spine when she peered back at the reflection.
"Well, I can help you because my journey is already over in my universe. I have already defeated the Shadow, so I know all of it's weaknesses and strengths, I can be a pretty useful ally if you consider to accept my help." The reflection said, her tone shifting from taunting to serious in almost a few seconds.
"You didn't really have to trap me here though, could have just like waited until I returned to the Mairy-Unique, couldn't you?" Orchid raised an eyebrow, but she had to admit she felt pretty sure her reflection wasn't lying.
"And how would that interaction turn out, seeing your reflection in the mirror suddenly move, I would have probably given you a heart attack or something! Might as well build up the suspense to make a big entrance." Her reflection scoffed.
"Well- I- okay fine, I have nothing to say against that, I'll... I'll accept your help. But first I have one question I want to ask you." Orchid stammered before pulling herself together again.
"Ask away."
"You said your journey was finished right? So, I just want to know. Did you find our family?"
The reflection's face dropped, a side of vulnerability quickly slipping through, before she replied, almost sympathetically.
"They all died at the hands of the Shadow. Every last one."
