Orchid woke up the next morning, the night before seeming like a blur.
She got out of bed and got herself ready for the day.
She put on the new charm bracelet Mr Passer gave her along with the new demaver, and after a quick good morning to Mairy, she headed off to breakfast.
"Morning Orchid." Everbloom grumbled as Orchid sat next to her and Mr Passer on the table, her plate filled with cut berries and pancakes.
"Morning Everbloom, morning Mr Passer." Orchid asked, confused to why Everbloom was so grumpy.
"Morning Orchid, don't mind Everbloom, she got her new school things today in the mail, before you arrived she was grumbling about how school doesn't have the right to contact her during the holidays." Mr Passer muttered the last part.
"Oh, wait, does that mean I have my school things too?" Orchid asked.
"Well, I think you should have them too, I'll show you your mailbox after breakfast." Mr Passer said, cutting his blueberry muffin with his fork.
"Bye guys, I'm heading off to my room, you can join me and we can organise our school things once you're done eating Orchid." Everbloom said and walked over to her room.
"Bye." Orchid replied.
"Anyways, I should show you your mailbox so that way if anyone needs to give you anything in the future you can just check there." Mr Passer said as they put their plates away.
Mr Passer led Orchid to an area near to where the rooms were, there were multiple slits in the wall, underneath each one was a latch.
Orchid saw one which had the number 13 engraved on it and walked towards it.
"Ah yes, you found your mailbox, it can only be opened by you so you don't have to worry about theft." Mr Passer said, "Just press on the latch and it should open, your mailbox can fit anything inside, so don't be surprised if one day you find a giant package inside."
Orchid pressed on the latch and it popped open, Orchid could see a box inside, the box sealed with a crest, the crest having a symbol of a strange object on it.
Orchid took the box out and closed the latch.
"So, that's your mailbox! I have to go to work now, see you in the evening Orchid." Mr Passer said and walked off.
Orchid walked over to Everbloom's room and knocked on the door.
"Orchid! Come in, we should organise all our school things so we are free for the rest of the holidays!" Everbloom said, looking a bit more happier than earlier.
Orchid walked in, obviously Everbloom had spent more time in the Mairy-Unique than her, her room showing that.
Her room was decorated with ornaments made of leaves and sticks, hanging plants dangling down from the ceiling.
Little plants sprouted from between the wood planks in the floor, and there were numerous potted plants scattered around everywhere.
The two sat down on the pale green carpet on the floor, their individual packages in front of them.
"So, is Davianna like a good school?" Orchid asked Everbloom as they opened their packages.
"Of course! It is the best school around! Nearly all of the most famous and smartest people in Etarnaya are Davianna graduates!" Everbloom replied.
Orchid looked in her package to see school stuff, well, to be safe, more magical looking school stuff.
She took out some of the textbooks, called: 'Uses of Plants: Scholars Edition', 'The Magic Behind Spells: The Theory', 'The Basic Handbook of Classes' and 'Harnessing your Power for Beginners'.
"These textbooks look... interesting?" Orchid said to Everbloom who was signing her name on hers with a pen.
"Well, of course, since you spent your life in the human world, but don't worry, I am sure Mr Passer has explained your situation to the teachers." Everbloom replied.
Orchid sighed with relief, no-one would have believed her if she were the one to tell them that she was a light-walker who spent 13 years living in the human world without knowing anything about magic.
Orchid continued looking through her package and found some faux leather bound notebooks, probably to write her notes in class.
She found some white feathery quills, but couldn't find any ink to write with.
"Magic quills, have infinite ink, if you hold them and think of a colour, the ink changes to that colour." Everbloom said as if reading Orchid's mind.
Orchid thought of the colour black, and just like that the feather turned from white to ebony.
Orchid smiled, these quills were a sure competition for her calligraphy pens.
Inside the box was also a badge with the shape of the strange object that was on the crest on her package.
At a closer inspection, she could identify it as what seemed to be a glowing orb, probably meant to represent magic.
"What's the badge for?" Orchid asked Everbloom.
"Oh, Davianna doesn't really have a uniform, so you just have to wear that badge instead during school hours." Everbloom replied.
By the time the two were done labelling and looking through all their stuff, it was time for lunch.
"Come on, we should eat." Everbloom said as she looked at the time.
"Yeah, let's go." Orchid replied.
