"Welcome to a new term at Davianna everyone! Whether this is your first time here, or you are back after a refreshing break, I hope you will come here everyday to learn to the best of your potential!" A man with horns of a goat announced to the school.

"Why isn't Miss Elvina doing the welcome presentation?" Orchid whispered to Everbloom.

"No-one knows, she always gets her representative, Mr Greymount to do it." Everbloom whispered back.

"Miss Elvina just loves her alone time." Iris said dreamily and conjured up mini stars floating around her finger.

"Now, we don't have much to address this term so I will get you all sorted into classes for today. As most of you will know, we have one different theory class each day of the week and then we have the rest of the day to work on your own individual abilities as a group, if you are taking any extracurriculars, it will be taking place on Friday mornings where you don't have any classes. So, now can I get all the teachers to collect their designated year group, we can head off to classes." Mr Greymount said.

The hall was went from quiet to loud and chaotic in a seconds as teachers were calling out their classes and students were calling out to their friends.

"Third years! Third years over to me!" Orchid heard someone yell.

"Come on!" Everbloom beckoned for Orchid to follow her.

Eventually they broke away from the chaos, and Orchid could see a group of people around her age.

Each one clearly had their own abilities, all of them boasting about what they learnt in the holidays to their friends.

And then there was basic orphan Orchid who couldn't even have the chance to share hers.

"I am assuming you are the third years, correct? I am your Magical History teacher, Miss Cecilia, please follow me to the classroom." A tall woman with long blonde hair introduced herself.

She started to walk off into the maze-like hallways of the school, Orchid making sure that she stayed close behind so she wouldn't get lost.

Eventually they made it to the classroom, a bright sunny room with desks in groups of three.

"Come on!" Everbloom dragged Orchid and Iris over to a table near the side of the room.

"Now, I just need to collect your timetables from the office, I'll be back in five minutes." Miss Cecilia left the room.

It was only a few seconds later when a cold chill entered.

"Here we go again, always making a cold entrance." Everbloom groaned.

"Well, well, what do we have here, we have Crazy Plant Lady and Miss Lunatic, and I see you have made a new friend, you sure look... interesting." An accented voice came from in front of them.

"Well guess what Miss I'm Better Than Everyone Else, at least we have the social skills to make one." Everbloom said sarcastically.

"Haha, the audacity you have! Anyways, who are you, I've never seen you around before." The voice laughed and seemed to turn their gaze to Orchid.

Orchid had been staring at her boots the whole time, hoping not to cause conflict on the first day of school, but her luck was just amazing, wasn't it.

She looked up to see... quite a strange character, as if she was coming out of a fairy-tale.

In front of Orchid stood a girl with pure silver hair, adorned with a crown of icicles.

She wore a pale blue dress, with a belt of, you guessed it, more icicles.

"Well?" The girl stared at Orchid with dangerous pale blue eyes.

"Um, I'm... Orchid?" Orchid replied, trying not to anger her, not wanting to make an enemy.

"I don't care about your name, what class are you in?" The girl said.

Orchid obviously knew that this girl wasn't to be trusted, and that she should probably not reveal that she was a Light-Walker, but she also didn't know what she could say as an excuse, being new to this world and all.

"She's a, um, a what! I mean a... Watcher?" Everbloom covered for Orchid.

"Peasant." The girl scoffed and walked away.

"Who was that?" Orchid whispered to Everbloom and Iris.

"That was 'Lyra Frost, the twelfth Frost Elven Heir.'" Everbloom imitated her accent.

"Honestly you should just ignore her, we all know I am the more important one here, twelfth! Can you imagine!" Iris said.

"She looked a bit like Miss Elvina for some reason though..." Orchid said.

"Well, they are both Elven, though Miss Elvina is from the plant based clan, while Lyra is from the frost based clan." Everbloom explained.

"And, one last question, what is a Watcher?" Orchid asked as Everbloom giggled.

"Uh, don't be upset at me, but a Watcher is basically just someone who can see forces of magic but can't do magic of their own." Everbloom burst out laughing.

"Oh, that fits my description very well, thanks for- hey! Can't do magic of their own! Everbloom!"
