"They... they all died?" Orchid felt a small tear slip past her cheek.

What was this, feeling sad because her family in another reality died?

But if they died in that reality, that just proved that the Light Walkers power's had their limits also, meaning that... if the Shadow got to her family before Orchid could... they could die also.

Then Orchid would truly be alone.

She didn't want to be alone.

Even though she hasn't found her family yet, knowing that they were out there filled her with a sense of comfort.

She didn't want to let go of that tiny bit of hope that ignited the sparks of light she wielded, for it was the part of her that showed that she belonged.

She couldn't lose the thing that connected her to this world, to the sky, to the stars.

She was a part of something.

"You done feeling sentimental? Don't you have someone to save from the Shadow?" The mirror interrupted Orchid's thoughts, the once quiet slate of land now filled with the echo of her voice.

"Not just someone, Iris is my friend."

"How considerate of you to call the person who threw you off cliff your friend. No wonder the Shadow thinks you are an easy target, you're so weak."

"You're one to say, the Shadow also killed your family and you weren't able to save them!" Orchid spat back irritated, only realising what she said a second too late as the reflection's face darkened.

"No wait, I'm sorry-"

"You don't know what happened that day, okay! You don't get to judge while your family is still alive- Oh, you apologised, sorry for that..." The Orchid in the mirror turned red for a brief second before composing herself again.

"Anyways, now that the ring is destroyed, the Shadow will need to find a new host. You won't be able to stop it from doing that, but you can at least try to weaken it, so we don't have another Iris situation." The mirror looked at Orchid, face in a serious position as she explained what she needed to do.

"How am I meant to weaken the Shadow though, I mean, last time I managed to immobilise the Shadow is when I had no idea how my powers worked, and to even try to do that again would require my wand to control it, yet alone a stroke of luck itself, what am I meant to do-"

"A little birdie told me that you've been practising with quite a remarkable and strong elf, who also happens to be the headmistress of Davianna, the best school in Etarnaya, don't you have learnt more than enough?" The reflection cut in Orchid's rambling.

Orchid's eyes went wide. "The dragon exercise. I know what to do."

"So are you ready to go back?" The Orchid in the mirror outreached her hand through the glass, the arm that was outside almost transparent like.

"Yes. I am." Orchid held onto the reflection's arm.

The last thing she saw was the reflection's distant smile when the world went swirling around her, almost rendering itself as if she were in a distant reality herself.

She watched quietly and in awe as the world went from a barren wasteland to the meadows she was in just before, and it almost gave her a shock seeing her unconscious body laying by the cliff side, being pulled towards it like magnetism.

It was a surreal experience, like she had been pulled out of her body and was just being sent back, like she was being waken up after a long rest.

Of course, peace didn't follow her around, chaos did.

She opened her eyes with a gasp, before she heard Everbloom scream.

"IRIS GET BACK!"

There was another scream as Orchid looked up to see Iris stumbling away from a dark mist, the Shadow.

Everything was fine, Iris will get away-

There was a choked gasp as Iris fell to her knees.

'The Shadow still must have some possession over here even though Everbloom destroyed the ring.' Orchid realised in horror, 'but why is he still targeting Iris when he thinks I'm unconscious?'

"Even though that Orchid Sunriser poses no threat, you're still of use to me if I am to infiltrate Davianna and then Etarnaya, you are just a pawn I can sacrifice in my plan." The Shadow growled.

This, this wasn't fine, Iris wasn't a pawn, Iris was Orchid's friend.

"Hey! Don't say I don't pose a threat until you can see what I can actually do."
