Trapped (Romano x Reader)

Today was the day you dreaded most out of the whole month; the World Meeting. Being a country yourself, you were tired of arguing amongst  the nations about nonsense. Last month was horrible, you vividly remember Francis and Arthur nearly fist fighting on top of the table simple because Arthur called him 'frog'.

There was some 'nonsense' that didn't bother you nearly as much though, and that was the Vargas brothers. Feliciano usually would never get too involved in the political side of the meetings, but he never failed to lighten the mood up a little bit. Let's not get started on his brother Lovino now. He was definitely not as kind to others like his brother, but he always gave you an odd butterfly feeling whenever you talked to him. What made the tension even worse is the fact no matter where the two of you tried to sit, somehow you always managed to be right next to each other.

- Last Month-

"Oh Romano- why don't you confess your love to (f/n)! Everyone already knows you think she's un muy bonita chica!" A Spanish voice chirped teasingly as he nudged his not so happy pal.

Lovino gritted his teeth, quickly slapping away the teasing Spaniards hand off of him. "You bastard Antonio! How could you embarrass me like that? She can hear you, you know!"

You starred entertained by the twos love-hate relationship for one another. A slight pink blush arose against your once colorless cheeks. "Now, now you two. Don't you think if poor Lovino thought I was cute he would tell me?"

"Well—bella, maybe I haven't had the chance to tell you just yet." Lovino muttered under his breath, still annoyed by Antonio, but hoping you couldn't hear his voice. This awkward situation was no place for him to be confessing his attraction to you just yet.

Luckily, the small commotion was interrupted by Ludwig yelling at the table that it was time for the meeting to start, so all was forgotten—for now at least.

As you continued your journey throughout the building, you finally made it to the World Meeting room, which resembled much like a lecture hall. The room was empty however, and you were extremely confused. Staring down at your watch, your confusion extremely intensified.

"There's no way." You spoke aloud to yourself, shaking your head in disbelief. The meetings always started promptly at 4, and there was no other nation to be seen. There must've been a fluke, but you couldn't wrap your head around it. For years, this had been the designated meeting spot.

You sighed, deciding you may as well should just take a seat just in case everyone had prior business, even though this turn of events made absolutely no sense. You turned the lights on and took a seat in one of the rolling chairs nearest the door, in hopes of a nation walking in and realizing everyone else was running fashionably late. You sat there for a moment longer, before someone rather familiar walked into the room.

"(F/N), what are you doing in here all by yourself?! Where is everyone?" As you turned to face him, you realized it was Lovino. This couldn't be good at all.

"Oh, hey Lovino. I was just trying to attend the meeting per usual but no one's here. I guess no one else is coming." You replied hesitantly before unlocking your phone and proceeding to your calendar app and showing the message to him. "It clearly states that we have a meeting at this time."

Lovino scrunched his brow, taking a hard look at the message himself. "That's weird... I got the same message. This makes no sense."

"Very, maybe I should dig deeper into this. We've been meeting in this spot for years now." You nodded in agreement with him, before analyzing closely who had posted the updated calendar date and location. It turns out the two of you had been removed from the original calendar roster, and this one happened to be the new schedule. Strangely enough, you and Lovino's names were the only two that had this new schedule shared with you. Who could possibly be behind this wicked scheme? But then you realized... You gulped nervously before showing Lovino the name on your phone.
