You heard that a lot of your friends saw Matthew as invisible... They could never see him, people would even call him a ghost just because he could appear in an area without people noticing.

This hurt you, why would they think such a thing of your dearest friend? The thing was now though; he was a ghost now... No one knew how anything happened.

You sat on the porch, as you sighed, holding in tears as you thought of your friend. Where did he go? Why couldn't you find him anymore? He would never answer your calls, nor texts; it was almost as if he had disappeared.

Tonight was Halloween, you had plans, with Alfred, Matthew's brother. You knew you would have fun, but it wouldn't be as fun without him.

You stood up, walking into your house, careless of whether or not you left the door was still fully shut. You slammed the door finally with frustration as you walked to your room, opening the closet, pulling out your costume; a pumpkin.

Slipping off your clothing, you stepped into a plain black pair of leggings, to match your pumpkin suit. You grabbed the outfit, raising your arms so you could easily slip into it.

Looking into the mirror, you frowned. The costume definitely looked better on the package, it always did... You forced a heavy sigh,

"Man, I hate Halloween so much this year. Why did Matthew have to go...?"

"I'm s-sorry, (f/n). It was time to pass, b-but I'm able to visit you for a little while." A familiar voice said softly, you turned around, noticing it was Matthew.

You jumped, terrified; he looked so different, almost... His skin was more paler than normal—glowing. Over all, he looked like his normal self.

"M-Matthew...!"

"(F/N), look. You shouldn't be afraid of me, I'm the same that I've always been, I'm just a ghost." The gentle Canadian assured you.

"How long are you here to be with me?" You ask, feeling tears start to form in your eyes. You were happy that you got to actually see your best friend again. Now, you didn't really care what he looked like, he was still your best friend and he would always remain that role.

Matthew sighed, looking down, his face swept into an expression of melancholy. "I'm afraid I don't know (f/n)... But I know it's not that long. I'll visit you as much as I can; that's a promise. No matter what, I'll always be here for you, I'm by your side, and you're strong e-even if I'm not alive anymore."

A small tear fell from your cheek. Quickly wiping it away, you nodded, a small smile forming on your face. "T-Thank you Matthew, you mean a lot to me, I mean it."

He nodded, signaling a 'You're welcome,' as a smile appeared on his once saddened expression. "You mean a lot to me too, (f/n)."

An sudden silence formed between the two of you as you looked down at your costume. "I don't know if I like it..., my costume." Your voice was filled with uncertainty.

"You're a pumpkin, eh? I remember when we went shopping together for Halloween costumes at the beginning of the month."

You recalled the memory of the two of you going to the costume store and buying your costumes. You were the one to choose a pumpkin, and Matthew, of course, chose the last Maple leaf costume there was in the store.

"Yeah, I remember that too. That was a lot of fun Matthew, I miss those types of memories."

Matthew nodded in agreement, "Yeah, I miss them too. Maple leafs and Pumpkins go good together though, eh?"

"Yes, they do."

Matthew stared down at the watch on his wrist, looking panicked. "(f/n), I really have to go now! But I have to go now. I love you my best friend, with all my heart. I'll be back soon, don't forget about me."

You extended your hand, reaching out to touch the Canadians hand, you couldn't touch it though, your hand went straight through his without bringing any pain to him at all.

"Have the best Halloween you can have with Alfred, I may not be there... B-But just be happy, please."

Your eyes filled up with tears again, quickly blinking them away so you wouldn't let Matthew down. "Okay, I will."

"G-Good bye, (f/n)," Right after the words escaped his lips, he had disappeared into the air.

You walk over to the (f/c) wall, leaning your back against it as you let out a loud sigh, closing your eyes, letting yourself sink down to the floor. Hearing the doorbell ring, you stood up, walking out to the front porch.

"Hey Al," You greeted as you stepped down, walking into the grass.

"Hey duddette!" Alfred laughed loudly, following you as he placed a hand on your shoulder. "What's wrong? You seem down,"

You shook your head, insisting nothing was wrong, "I'm fine, I promise. Now, let's go have fun tonight as we trick or treat!"

Handing you your basket that you would place your Halloween candy into (yes, you still went trick or treating), he ran off onto the side walk, "Heck yeah, dude! This is going to be one hell of a Halloween!"

You didn't believe it at first, but, Halloween was still pretty fun with only Alfred. Surely, Matthew was pleased with you because you enjoyed your Halloween, as a maple leaf, and didn't eat too much candy.

WOW I apologize for not updating and yada yada. Tbh I don't even know what I'm doing with my life anymore. Partially the reason I'm not updating is because I'm not doing too well in school and I need to study... The other part is just that I'm lazy. I don't feel like my one shots have been that good lately, I'm not really that confident with my writing at the moment. ;-;

Ugh I no longer have an update date guys, it's too stressful at the moment to pick a specific day to update on. I'll just try to work on my fanfics as much as I can, please just accept that.

Anyways, I guess that'll be all for now, I hope you enjoyed! Love you all~
