Alfred Jones, had a country to be winning over. Previously, his elder brother, Arthur Kirkland was commanding the British army in Georgia. In Alfred's life, he saw him as a fatherly brother figure, because of all the times he helped raise him. But now that he and his boss King George were both ruling against his will of freedom, the brotherhood was falling apart. Every night was his time to sit down and reflect. He wanted to truly ponder every event of his life and figure out how he would become the most powerful nation in the world.
As he sat down at his desk, he checked his mail. Every day he would read a letter that came from a woman named Y/N. This wasn't just any woman of minimal significance, this was the significant other of Arthur Kirkland; better yet, the significant other that was slowly falling out of love with him. His biggest ally, the person who caused him so much pain. How could his significant other show him so much care, writing to him nearly every day?
Looking down at the newly arrived letter, Alfred read it carefully:
My Dear, Alfred
I hope you are doing well. My dearest is away in Georgia. You know him so well. I am growing rather worried, as he does not have the time like you do to write meaningful letters. I can't help the feelings of gratitude I have for you, thank you. You cause a feeling inside of me that makes me feel more and more helpless by the day. Thank you for fighting this war, maybe one day we can be free. You are the reason I feel love. It's not easy to accept that you have to fight this war, but one day, there will be a chance for you to be free. I just want to get out, watch the stars; understand why each of those stars has a purpose being there. I want to live in bliss with you. But I do have a question to propose to you; do you think I am a horrible woman for having these feelings for you as I have a husband for the time being? I hope to hear from you soon,
Y/N
Alfred sat there in awe, rereading the letter more and more every time. The meaning behind it resonates deeper into his soul each time. He held the letter close to his chest, embracing it. Following this, he returned to his bed and sat there in his warmth pondering of an ideal response. He thought solely of you, every thought of Arthur leaving his mind as he thought of the ideal of having you, and only you. That's what he yearned for, in this instance Arthur could have all of Georgia for all he cared.
As long as he could have his freedom, and You in the end, that's all that mattered.
As soon as he did, he made way back to his desk, pulling out his feather and ink he began writing the letter he intended to you:
Dear, F/N,
I am so glad that you have reached out to me again. War has been hectic, and my soldiers are on the brink of death. Times have been better, but that is not on my mind right now. Because I'm thinking about you now, and that takes away all of my worry. To show you the stars one day would be a heroic thing for me to do.day. As for you and Arthur, I will say one thing. I don't think you are a disgraceful person at all, even though you are in a marriage with the enemy. Love doesn't discriminate, it takes and it takes, we laugh and we make our mistakes. You may think the failing relationship between you and Arthur has taken on your love life completely, but there is a reason why I'm by your side even when others have tried. I will have you one day, I'm willing to wait for it.
