You struggled to walk through the heavy blizzard that blew into your face, your teeth chattered. The wind roared in your ears, which made them hurt. It was so cold even through four heavy layers of clothing, you felt like a block of ice.

You were doing this so you could see your dearest friend Gilen. He was generally a sad person, who had no friends. But when you were around he always seemed to lighten up; just little bit anyway through.

It would normally snow in the area of where he lived. Yet, it was never this severe. Most of the time you would take your car to his house but the roads were too dangerous to drive on tonight.

You squinted your eyes, holding one of your gloved hands above your eyebrows. You see Gilen's house somewhat far ahead, it was covered snow already.

Weakly, you picked up one of your feet; stepping into the deep snow. It was hard since you were doing this for long.

I have to continue. You constantly told yourself. I just have to... For Gilen.

As you approached closer to the house, you felt yourself start to grow weaker. Your teeth continued to clatter,  you couldn't feel your toes inside of your boots.

You were almost there; at the doorstep as you felt your legs start to grow weak. You gave the door a light knock, before your legs collapse underneath you, hitting the cold porch with a thud.

Quickly after hearing the knock on the door, Gilen made his the door to check to see who was there. He was more than confident that it was (f/n). He was a tad surprised that she would make come visit it this late at night with the frigid weather and snowstorm.

As he pushed the door open he looked down at you with shock, he wasn't expecting you to be laying there like that. He was worried. What if you were laying there for a long time and just now had the strength to knock on the door? What if you had gotten frostbite somewhere? Much worse; hypothermia...

Gilen decided to shake the worried thoughts by scooping you up into his arms.

I hope she's okay.  He thought to himself, walking into his warm house and shutting the door behind him with his back. He carried you to the living room and laid you down next to a fireplace to keep warmth.

"(f/n)? Are you all right?" The young man asked you nervously. He stripped the two cold, snow covered layers and laying them on the floor.

You groaned, trying to say something; anything if you could. "Y-Yeah... I'm cold though." You managed groggily.

"I'll get you some blankets if that helps..." Gilen walked to the nearest closet, retrieving a few blankets from it.

He really was a great friend, the both of you cared for each other dearly. It made you  happy that he was trying to keep you warm.     You quickly thought of how a version totally opposite would deal with a situation like this. He would probably laugh at you and rant about how awesome he was and how he wouldn't ever do something as stupid as what you just did.

As Gilen walked back over, he draped the blankets over your body. "Does it help?" He asked.

"Yeah... It helps just a little bit," You told him  "Thank you. "

A small smile formed on his generally sad face, "You're welcome, (f/n). Let me know if you need anything else."

As the next morning had come, your eyes fluttered open to see light shining from the window into your eyes. You groaned and sat up, looking over your shoulder and seeing Gilen.

"Good morning, Gilen," You smile gently as you turned your body to face him. He was wearing his normal outfit, along with his cape on his head.

"Good morning, (f/n)." He said softly, looking out the window. Copying his actions, you looked out as well.

You saw with just a glimpse that it wasn't storming anymore. There were beautiful ice crystals that hung from the edges of the roof, and perfectly white snow covered the ground as far as the eye could see.

You stared in awe, you had never seen snow outside to look so beautiful. "Wow Gilen, it looks amazing..."

"Ja, I guess something ugly can slowly turn into something beautiful with the time." Gilen heaved a sigh.

You stared back at him. looking into his eyes. "Gilen, I would like to thank you for saving me out there last night. It still means a lot to me."

Gilen nodded, inching closer to you. "You're welcome, (f/n). That's what friends are for. I love and care about you too much to let anything ever happen to you." He smiled a real, meaningful type smile.

"Gilen... Thank you, once again, you're the world to me and you're the most amazing friend I have."

Gilen held out his arms, pulling you into a warm embrace while he kissed your forehead affectionately. You quickly buried your head into his chest as he rested his chin on the top of your head.

"I know I'm not strong. Nor powerful, but I'll try my best to protect you."
