Charlotte's POV-

"She won't send the dye. What a bitch."

"What did she say?" Parvati asked, as Lavender sat down at the breakfast table.

"Dear Lavender. I can't send you muggle hair dye because you are way too young to dye your hair alone. Please don't ask again." Lavender crumpled up the paper and threw it on the table.

"I guess there's that." I shrugged, taking a bite of my waffle, I glanced at the Slytherin table, Malfoy was laughing at something Parkinson said. I rolled my eyes, there was no way she was saying anything at that.

"Well, we could always try a spell." Lavender suggested, drawing my eyes back to her.

"But we don't know how to do the spells. Aren't they a little more advanced for us?" I asked.

"Oh, it's fine, how hard could it be."

"Very hard, that's why we aren't going to do it for like another three years." Parvati said, I couldn't help myself and looked over at the Slytherin table again, not to stare at him, but because I was just wondering if Parkinson was really that funny. I looked over at him, making eye contact with Malfoy, he was already staring at me, he smirked at me, tilting his head. I felt a blush creeping up my face, I narrowed my eyes at him, rolling my eyes.

"Oh, Parvati, don't be so nervous. This is why Charlotte will do it."

"Me?" I said, ripping my eyes away from Malfoy. I couldn't tell them, that it was my first year of magic. I need to get out of this.

"Yeah, Parvati is too nervous. I don't want to do it to myself, so you'll do it. And if you mess up, Parvati can try."

"I don't really think that's a good idea,"

"Oh please, it'll be fine."

"It's a little advanced for our age."

"It's not!" I groaned under my breath; this was goanna be a very bad idea.

---

"Okay, let's start." We grabbed every book we found from the library about dying hair.

"Lavender, maybe someone else should- " I said, I fiddle with my wand, chewing my bottom lip.

"It will be fine."

"I'm not doing it." Parvati said as she looked over one of the books we bought. She was more nervous then I was, and I was the one who just started magic this year.

"Alright." I huffed. I flicked my wand at a small section of Lavender's hair, the small section turned her blond hair a dark brown almost black color.

"Oh, look!" I said, I picked up her strand of hair, and showed it to them. They both gasped staring at the strand of hair.

"Oh, my merlin! Do the rest!" Lavender squealed. Parvati walked closer to us and hovered over my shoulder as I tried to do the next section.

I had done three successful sections of Lavender's hair. I just stared the fourth, when her hair suddenly started smoking. I put my wand down as Parvati started screaming.

"Oh, my god!"

"Smoke! Smoke!" I yelled, I waved my hands in front of her hair, trying to stop the smoke but then suddenly there were small sparks and her hair caught on fire. Where the hell did the sparks come from? The three of us started screaming, as the door opened, Hermione walked in, she flicked her wand, and the fire slowly died down.

"What are you three doing!" She shouted, as we calmed down. I ran my fingers through Lavender's hair, it was burnt to the crisp, it smelled horrible, and if I squeezed it to tightly it would fall off.
