"Ha?" Tanong ko sa kanya bago sumilip sa balikat niya. The dog is jumping onto his tummy while wagging its tail. He seems tamed now.
"Ang cute mo." Pag-uulit niya pa sa sinabi niya. I would think that he is pertaining to the dog, but he took a glance towards me while smiling. I gave him a dagger look but he didn't notice it at all. He's so busy caressing the dog's forehead.
"Your dog chased me and you're just going to tell me I'm cute? Geez. What kind of person are you?" Hindi makapaniwalang reklamo ko. Natahimik kaming dalawa hanggang sa marinig ko na lang siyang tumawa ng mahina. "Muntik na akong makagat ng aso Paulo!" I hissed but he laughed even more. Seriously?!
"He's not going to bite you." Saad niya at saka hinawakan ako sa wrist para hilahin sa harap pero mas hinawakan ko ng mahigpit ang damit niya kaya tumawa siya lalo. "Look, Jasper is smiling and wagging his tail. He's playing with you. You're just overreacting." Dagdag niya pero idinikit ko lalo ang mukha ko sa likod niya.
I have a trauma with dogs dahil ilang beses na akong nahabol. I am fortunate that I have never been bitten but it wouldn't change the fact that they are scary as hell.
"Fine, I wouldn't laugh at you anymore." He said and stepped forward pero dahil sa takot ay muli akong sumunod sa kanya habang hindi bumibitaw. I felt him stifling himself from laughing so I literally slapped his arm. Hindi naman siya nagreklamo.
"Jasper come here!" Utos niya sa aso niya. I tightened my grip until I felt him bend a little. Literal na dumikit ako lalo sa kanya. My face is already sweating but I wouldn't mind. This is better than being bitten by a dog.
"Say hi to this beautiful girl behind me." He said on a cute voice. I never thought that I could hear him like this. Iniangat ko ang ulo ko and I saw the dog licking him on his cheeks. Nang mapansin ako nang aso ay agad ito lumapit. Agad nanlaki ang mata ko bago muling tumago. Paulo laughed hard until I heard a footstep coming near.
"Jasper!" A female voice said. I heard the dog barked until I heard the dog's voice from afar.
I took a peek and I saw a girl, probably younger than me. She's now holding the dog. The dog on the other hand is just looking at me while showing his damn annoying look.
Parang nang-aasar pa!
"Girlfriend mo Kuya?" Agad nanlaki ang mata ko sa sinabi ng babae bago tumingin kay Paulo. He looked at me too before looking at the girl and shaking his head as an answer. The girl doesn't seem to be convinced though.
The girl was about to ask again but Paulo held my wrist and pulled me behind him. Hindi ko na nagawang tanggalin ang pagkakahawak ko sa damit niya. Wala kaming nadaanan na tao sa loob ng bahayy pero wala na akong panahon para magtanong. Lumagpas kami sa receiving area. Sobrang bilis niya maglakad kaya hindi ko na halos makita ang details ng bahay.
I thought everything is going to be smooth when a woman showed up. She's holding a tong while wearing an apron. "Hi!" Energetic na bati niya sa akin. I smiled and was about to answer when Paulo held my wrist and put me on his back as if he was protecting me from something.
