"Now, Ms. Martin, tell me, why and how are you there at that moment?" A police officer asked one early morning. Pau hated the idea but he also know that he couldn't push back further. One of these days, they will eventually come to me. "Why are you there?"

If I could just be sarcastic ay kanina ko pa ginawa. How can they ask me that? Of course I was there to walk. Nasa pedestrian lane kami. Is that even illegal?

Well, apparently, the guy who was riding the motorcycle is a local. To avoid the clash with the nationals, they are dumping everything to us because we are foreigners. That's just a theory but the situation is highly likely falling that way. The only thing that they did not consider is Pau's image. Of course they might have looked into it and thought that Pau's image can easily be tainted if they manipulate the evidences. However, his wife has connections in every industry. I could easily ask for proof and as soon as we turned the table, the police will definitely give up, afraid to receive disapproval from people.

I had all the plan in my mind. The only thing that left is the execution. That's why I needed to be mindful. This is a oneshot plan. Any mistake could lead us to nothing. Especially now that Pau is facing the clash from people.

Noong unang mabasa ko ang isang article, akala ko fake news lang. That's what I initially thought but it vanished when I called Pau's manager and they confirmed that there's a lawsuit to Pau and I right now. Bakit kami? Hindi ba 'yong lalaki dapat ang managot? What a rotten law.

Without waiting for anything, I contacted my legal team. They wouldn't be able to do anything because they are not allowed to take practice in here but advised me to go to the embassy. Mayroon din daw silang kilala na sikat na lawyer dito at kokontakin nila para sa akin. I also asked my PR team to take care of the things that they had to take care of. Nai-involve na naman kasi ang hospital at ang kompanya ni Mom at Dad.

"Yes. Please send an investigation team." I uttered on the other line. "Thank you."

I almost gasped when I noticed Pau, standing and staring at me with a serious face. "What are you doing?" He asked calmly.  Ayaw kong magalit but these things should be dealt by the two of us. I get his point. I am recovering. I trust him that he can deal with it but I couldn't just sit and wait for him when this is obviously my problem too.

"I told you that I will deal with this alone, right? Nag-usap na tayo di'ba?" Pau pleadingly asked and took steps to come near me.  For some reason, he looked really worried. "I told you to trust me. I told you not to worry about a thing..."

"I trust you..."

He did not wait for me to finish what I am saying because he already fired back. "Then why couldn't you trust me fully? You trust me but you have doubts. You trust me but not enough for you to stay away from this matter?"

As the words spilled out of my mouth, frustration boiled over like a pot left too long on the stove. My heart raced with the intensity of a thundering stampede, and I couldn't contain the surge of emotion any longer. "But you are not being sued alone," I exclaimed, my voice cracking with raw emotion. "Pau, I am being sued too. I am also being bullied online!"

"I trust you and I respect you... but love, we are partners. I get it that we are individuals who can stand independently to deal with our own problems but this isn't just about us...it's about you... it's  about me..." Pau's eyes furrowed in confusion. Napag-usapan na namin 'to but bashing is another thing. Hindi  ba pwedeng magbago ang opinion. Especially now that I already know what exactly is happening. "When you hurt, I hurt. When you struggle, I struggle. We may stand alone, but we can stand stronger together."
