She packed her hair to the back with a navy blue ribbon then plaited its edge into a knot. She picked one of the bottles of perfume on the mirror desk and sprayed it over her body, the enticing fragrance of her perfume clouded the atmosphere of the room. Hidaya looked at herself through the mirror and her lips quivered into a smile as she was satisfied with what she did to her hair. After all, it had been long since she took that much care of her hair, she didn't have time to.
Hidaya was already in a black and white dress so she just tied her head with a scarf as her last touch.
She was about lie down on her bed when Aida came running and shouting, exactly like a lunatic. "Aida stop" Hidaya warned as her shouts were already causing a mild headache for her. "You can't believe what just happened" Aida said with a wide grin. "What happened?" Hidaya asked studying Aida's expression, that was when she noticed the envelope in her hand.
"You heard the door bell right?" Aida asked, "right!" Came Hidaya's reply.
"Well, it was Abdul, Fahad's friend that studies in the same school with me. He brought this with him for me, for us" Aida said handing the envelope she had on her hand to Hidaya which Hidaya accepted hesitantly.
"They are freaking tickets to freaking Russia" Aida shouted. Hidaya went ahead and opened the envelope she saw the tickets and list of paid bills of their reserved accomodations when they get there, everything was being paid for. "Who sent it?" Hidaya asked, maybe it was not for them. "Fahad did. You know his graduation is coming up soon right?" Aida asked back.
"I do" Hidaya replied. "Well, we were just talking about how I won't be present on one of the biggest day of his life four days back and he told me not to worry. When we talked yesterday, he told me to expect a surprise today and then this" Aida explained some part of the details of it.
"So the thing ba, is for three people as you can see. Me, you and Adda Wahi. Me because I should be there as his nisful qalb, you because I shouldn't go alone and Adda Wahi because you should not get bored and lonely once we get there. You and Adda Wahi will keep each other company throughout the journey" Aida explained the remaining details as Abdul explained to her earlier.
"Aida this is crazy! You do realise that we've never even been on a plane right?" Hidaya asked panicking a bit.
"You do realise everything has a beginning right? So chill. What's the worst that can happen?" Aida asked too, she was too excited to understand that the whole thing was crazier than it seemed. Trying new things was her thing afterall. "But still Aida, Russi..."
