The bright sun shone like a golden claw in the morning sky and it was aglow because of the sun rays. The world had become so peaceful that it became difficult not to relax as you admire the beauty of the morning. But was she relaxed at all?
She didn't move an inch on her bed ever since she woke up from her dawn slumber except the time she took to greet her parents, she had been thinking about the different ups and downs of her life. She reminisced how her friend's ended and wondered when hers will end too or was she just being ungrateful?
It was a Sunday morning so she didn't have to worry about work or the likes of it. She just had to focus on what and what she could do to see that her life changes for the better.
Rather than fishing out a way for that to happen, she just kept on remembering each of her flaws and none of the solutions to correct them. But did she even want to correct her flaws? To become someone she wasn't? Was she ready to embrace the changed? She doubted so.
Sighing for the umpteenth time that morning, Wahida cleared her mind and postponed her thoughts for later. She stood up from bed and walked to her toilet to freshen up, her body felt soar from all the lying down she did. And from how her day was going, she would probably go back to bed after her bath except some miracle occurs.
Wahida got dressed in casuals, a shirt and and a pair of trousers. She put over her short sleeves shirt, a boyfriend-jacket and used a veil to wrap her head.
Instead of going back to bed and thinking about the many impossible possibilities of her life, she picked some books from her shelf, a garden mat and some writing materials before walking out of her room to their garden.
As it was already 11:57am, she decided not to eat breakfast and just wait for lunch. Besides, she knew that the table must have been cleared.
Wahida sat and read happily one of the novels she brought with her. She loved reading, mostly because it was an excuse to escape from reality. The reality she was so afraid of facing even for a minute. "Wahida" She heard her voice being called by someone she knew was her mother. "Yes, coming" Wahida said and stood up to go answer her mother's call.
"Make sure you get ready, we're having guests by 2:00pm" Ammi informed her. "Who are coming?" Wahida asked. "Just do as I say, you'll see when they come" Ammi replied. "Okay but what about food, or maybe snacks?" Wahida asked again. "Been taken care of, you wouldn't know since all you do is sleep" Ammi said. That was the end of Wahida's questions to her mother. She hated to argue about things with her mother so she always agrees with whatever she told her. If not she would have argued about her sleeping because Wahida never got the time to even sleep that much, how would she when she was a working woman who always returns late from work?
